Job Description Overview We are looking for an IT Portfolio Analyst / PMO Portfolio Analyst to support portfolio planning, resource management, financial governance, and stakeholder coordination within a technology organization. This role will act as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring effective portfolio management, accurate reporting, and informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities Daily Responsibilities Update portfolio dashboards using Planview and Jira. Participate in resource planning meetings with the PMO team to review capacity forecasts and resource bottlenecks. Conduct intake clarification meetings for new business requests to understand project scope, data requirements, resource needs, and business value. Prepare preliminary recommendations for leadership based on intake assessments. Compile weekly portfolio status reports, tracking project progress, budget utilization, and cost overruns requiring escalation. Analyze vendor invoices and software licenses to identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare materials for PI Planning meetings, including capacity availability, prioritized backlogs, and resource constraints. Act as the liaison between business leaders and technical teams, translating business requirements into financial and operational impacts. Maintain data accuracy across portfolio management tools and reporting platforms. Required Technical Skills Candidates should have experience working with the following tools: Planview Jira Tableau Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Must-Have Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in portfolio management, PMO, technology planning, IT business management, financial management, or a related discipline. Experience supporting technology organizations and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships. Experience using portfolio management and planning tools such as Planview, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms. Nice-to-Have Qualifications MBA or equivalent in Information Technology, Economics, Business, Finance, or a related field. PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications (SAFe, Scrum Master, etc.). Experience working with data and analytics or technical teams, with the ability to bridge business and technology functions. Experience with Planview, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, and related collaboration tools. Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau, Visio, Mural, or Lucid. Experience with AI prompt development and the use of AI agents to automate reporting and workflow activities. Required Soft Skills Strong understanding of portfolio management, demand management, and resource planning. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business case development. Excellent communication, reporting, and executive presentation skills. Ability to gather and document business requirements while identifying strategic priorities. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple teams. Results-oriented mindset with the ability to build robust operational processes, drive innovation, and adapt to changing priorities.
The expected base salary range for this position is $40 – $45 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity.
