About TICAN Talent Innovation Canada (TICAN) powers Canada’s innovation economy by embedding the country’s brightest graduate talent into its most innovative firms, accelerating breakthrough technology development and growing Canadian IP. Focusing on the areas of biomanufacturing & bioscience, microelectronics & ICT, clean growth, and mobility, TICAN is supporting Canadian firms to be leaders in these critical sectors and ensuring access to a talent pipeline to support their long-term technology roadmaps. Position Summary Reporting to the Director, Stakeholders, the Partnerships Officer will support the development and management of strategic academic and research partners across Canada who are ready to work with TICAN to formulate industry-driven advanced technology development research projects. The Partnership Officer will work across the entire partner lifecycle, from initial outreach to long-term relationship management, contributing to the successful execution of collaborative initiatives. The successful candidate is highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple stakeholders in Canada’s research and innovation landscape. Key Responsibilities Support relationship management with universities, research and innovation-oriented organizations, industry associations, and similar ecosystem partners across Canada Assist in managing daily relations and engagement of research institutes, innovation networks, industry associations, and sector-focused organizations Prepare briefing materials, meeting notes, stakeholder updates, and follow-up communications Maintain stakeholder database management, engagement tracking, and partnership documentation Monitor, analyze, and report on partnership pipeline health Coordinate and support institutional and ecosystem partners in developing applications and submitting Letters of Intent (LOI) and proposals for TICAN funding. Assist in the drafting and review of partnership documentation and supporting materials Help manage timelines, deliverables, and communications related to partner proposal submissions and funding opportunities Support calls for proposals, including partner onboarding, information sessions, and application coordination Conduct research and environmental scans on Canada’s research, innovation, and talent ecosystem as it pertains to key sectoral themes Monitor emerging partnership opportunities with academic, public, and not-for-profit organizations Support outreach campaigns to target new partnerships across the innovation ecosystem Support cross-functional collaboration with internal teams to align stakeholder engagement activities and objectives with program priorities Assist with developing materials for and interfacing with partners at conferences, roundtables, webinars, and ecosystem engagement activities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public policy, innovation, business, communications, higher education administration, social sciences, or a related field 3–5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, program coordination, research administration, or ecosystem development Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities Experience coordinating multiple projects and managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to build professional relationships with diverse stakeholders Interest in research commercialization, innovation policy, talent development, and Canada’s R&D ecosystem Assets Familiarity with Canada’s research and innovation ecosystem, including universities, research institutes, and innovation funding organizations Experience supporting stakeholders in developing funding applications, LOIs, or proposal development Experience working in a not-for-profit, post-secondary, research, or innovation-focused organization Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset What We Offer Opportunity to contribute to a growing national organization focused on innovation and economic impact Exposure to Canada’s leading research and innovation organizations Collaborative and mission-driven work environment Flexible and remote-friendly work arrangements Opportunity for professional growth within Canada’s innovation ecosystem Location Remote within Canada, with occasional travel for partner meetings and events.
