R&D and QC Associate Location: Agrisan, Arthur, ON

Reports to: Senior Managing Director, Agrisan

Purpose OF ROLE Reporting to the Senior Managing Director, the R&D and QC Associate play a vital role in driving innovation and efficiency within our technical operations. This role is key to supporting technical sales, optimizing production processes, leading new product development initiatives, and assisting with quality control (QC) investigations. While the position has no direct reports, it involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives. In partnership with both internal and external stakeholders, the R&D and QC Associate will uphold Agrisan’s GMP compliance standards while delivering operational excellence, efficiency, and safety. The R&D and QC Associate of Agrisan will be accountable for: Leading research and development initiatives by designing, executing, and refining experimental processes that enhance product innovation and quality. Cultivating a collaborative and dynamic R&D environment, which fosters innovation, encourages scientific excellence, and supports both internal teams and external stakeholders. Leading and managing R&D projects focused on advancing product development and regulatory strategy, while working cross-functionally to ensure alignment with organizational goals. With that, the R&D and QC Associate of Agrisan will serve as a change agent for CG Wellington’s initiatives and projects providing support, direction and leadership within the Company and with their peers across the organization.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities Overseeing daily R&D activities in alignment with: Agrisan’s purpose (“why”) Agrisan’s values CGW’s vision, mission, and values. Responsible for all laboratory activities related to R&D, ensuring compliance with Agrisan’s Quality Management systems. Provide scientific and technical expertise to the sales team, assisting with customer inquiries, product recommendations, and formulation guidance to support business growth. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the lab and facility, upholding safety protocols and environmental protection guidelines and participating in safety related risk assessment activities. Lead R&D initiatives focused on developing new specialty chemical and pharmaceutical products, from conceptualization to commercialization, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. Includes completion of annual SRED reporting. Provides support to site personnel for investigations, change controls, protocols, reports, area releases, project planning and site procedures Provides expertise in GMP compliance of SOPs, processes, validation studies, change requests, and calibration documentation. Support optimization of laboratory processes to improve output, reduce/eliminate costs, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Develop and communicate key performance goals for R&D projects. Demonstrate personal alignment with CG Wellington’s Code of Conduct policy and ensure commitment to policy by all members of the team. Coordinate external disposal of Hazardous waste produced at Agrisan with appropriate vendors and complete required documentation through RPRA systems. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, and support efforts as required.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s university degree; from a Canadian university or a degree recognized as equivalent by a Canadian university or Canadian accreditation body in a science related field (e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering) and have a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in industrial, pharmaceutical manufacturing. Knowledge of GMPs (GUI-0001), Quality systems, OHSA and TDG. Experience in leading R&D projects. Experience in working with diverse individuals. Great strategic and creative thinking skills. Demonstrated execution of goal-setting responsibilities. Strong analytical skills. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Self-motivated and driven to succeed and lead the Company to maximum productivity and efficiency. Commitment to excellence and strong sense of accountability. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail and ability to execute with excellence.

Range: $24.00-$28.00 per hour to commensurate based on experience.
