Lead/ Senior Power Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Power Systems Engineer to join our Toronto team and take technical ownership of complex power systems studies across a diverse and growing project portfolio spanning the Canadian market and beyond.
THE ROLE You will combine technical leadership with project delivery responsibility across renewable energy and complex power systems work. Acting as a key technical authority, you will support clients and internal teams from early-stage studies through to commissioning. You will also mentor engineers in the Toronto office and contribute to a strong, high-performing team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead complex power system studies including protection, earthing, lightning, harmonics, planning, and transient analysis • Develop and run system models for industrial, utility-scale, renewable, and BESS projects • Support client discussions, technical reviews, and project negotiations • Manage project scope, schedules, and resources • Develop user-defined models and scripting in PowerFactory • Ensure quality, manage technical changes, and maintain documentation • Promote safety and continuous improvement
ABOUT YOU • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline • Experience leading power systems studies in industrial, utility, renewable, or energy storage projects • Strong proficiency in PowerFactory, ETAP, and PSCAD/EMTDC • Solid understanding of protection and control, substations, and distribution systems • Strong knowledge of renewable integration and network dynamics • Proven leadership and mentoring capability • Clear communication and high-quality technical reporting skills • Willingness to travel for site work and client engagement Experience with MATLAB, HOMER, PVSyst, or WindPro, along with scripting or programming skills, is considered an asset.
