We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Category Manager, Centre of Store to join our Merchandising team in Langley, BC. Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, Centre of Store, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction of assigned product categories. This role drives profitable growth by delivering the right assortment, pricing, promotional strategies, and supplier partnerships to meet evolving customer needs while achieving financial objectives. Through market insight, commercial decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration, the Category Manager identifies opportunities that strengthen our competitive position and enhance the customer experience. You will be responsible for: Developing and executing category strategies that optimize assortment, pricing, promotions, and profitability. Building and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers, leading commercial negotiations, funding agreements, and cost management initiatives. Analyzing category performance, customer trends, and market insights to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. Managing product lifecycles, including new product introductions, assortment optimization, and product discontinuations. Developing pricing and promotional strategies that balance customer value with financial performance while maintaining a competitive market position. Identifying emerging trends, competitive activity, and industry innovations, translating insights into actionable merchandising strategies. Collaborating with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to successfully execute category initiatives and promotional programs. Managing category budgets and financial performance, ensuring sales, margin, and profitability targets are achieved. Ensuring products and suppliers meet environmental, legislative, food safety, and product integrity standards. Resolving supplier and customer issues in a timely manner while maintaining strong business relationships. Representing the business at supplier meetings, trade shows, and industry events to identify new products, emerging trends, and partnership opportunities. You have: A post-secondary education in business administration, commerce, marketing, or a related discipline. A minimum of five years of progressive retail merchandising, category management, procurement, or buying experience. Demonstrated experience managing product assortment, pricing strategies, supplier negotiations, and promotional planning. A strong understanding of retail financial metrics, including budgets, sales, gross margin, and profit and loss statements. Experience using merchandising systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel. Experience leading projects and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously. You are: An excellent communicator with exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Commercially astute with proven negotiation and supplier relationship management experience. An analytical thinker who interprets data, identifies trends, and makes informed business decisions. Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver profitable growth and achieve business objectives. Curious, innovative, and confident challenging conventional thinking to identify new opportunities. Highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
