Job Description:

This role leads the creation, promotion, and execution of dynamic, high-impact events and partnerships at a world-renowned ski resort, enhancing the guest experience and driving visitation year-round. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on delivery, overseeing event programming, sponsorship growth, cross-department collaboration, and team leadership to deliver memorable experiences that reflect Lake Louise’s reputation and vision.

Job Responsibilities:

Event Management

  • Plan, advertise, promote, organize, and execute annual public-facing events (off and on-site) produced by the resort and/or in collaboration with third-party event planners, including demos and activations.
  • Monitor event performance metrics, attendance and participant feedback to identify and implement event strategies that align with resort objectives, seasonal priorities, enhance guest engagement, and improve overall event success.
  • Provide managerial oversight of the volunteer program, including recruiting and payment, while day-to-day coordination, scheduling and operations are supported by the Events Coordinator
  • Manage event logistics including permits, site plans, vendor coordination, equipment requirements, and operational timelines.
  • Ensure all events comply with resort policies and applicable health, safety, and risk management standards.
  • Develop contingency plans for weather-related or operational changes impacting event delivery.
  • Serve as the primary interdepartmental liaison, coordinating and communicating event requirements to ensure timely delivery of operational needs throughout planning, execution, and post-event activities.
  • Assist other departments during peak season (i.e. Guest Services, Food and Beverage).
  • Organize and manage all in-resort advertising, including bulletin boards, table-talkers, and TV ads for events.
  • Lead the coordination of off-site community events.
  • Liaise with Content Specialist to ensure events presence on social media.
  • Ensure website updates, weekly e-blasts, and news articles include relevant event and sponsorship content.
  • Assist the Marketing & Sales department with additional tasks (i.e. participating in photo shoots, hosting FAMs, etc).
  • Be available for media conversations regarding past and upcoming events in promotion of the resort.
  • Create an events calendar for both Summer and Winter season that aligns with the department and upper managements vision and strategic goals for the Resort.
  • Prepare and finalize Winter season events during Summer months; including the completion of wrap up reports, budgets, and updating partnership and sponsorship agreements.
  • Coordinate Summer events and work to create and increase Summer events with new ideas and proposals.
  • Prepare regular and timely event reports, budgets, including preparation of proposed budgets for the upcoming seasons and AFEs, purchase orders, and other administrative documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitor event expenditures to ensure budgets remain within approved limits.

Sponsorship Management

  • Lead the acquisition of new corporate event sponsorship and grow existing partnerships, setting benchmarks and revenue goals in collaboration with leadership.
  • Develop sponsorship decks and related materials to inform potential sponsors of opportunities.
  • Track and ensure the delivery of sponsorship agreements, expectations and deliverables, collaborating with internal teams to meet obligations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, performers, and community partners.
  • Prepare event sponsorship performance reports, including return-on-investment metrics and partner recaps.
  • Evaluate sponsorship outcomes and identify opportunities for long-term partnership growth.

Wedding Program Management

  • Collaborate with management to further develop the resort’s weddings program, setting clear benchmarks and sales & revenue targets.
  • Create and update marketing materials and wedding planning resources in conjunction with the marketing team.

Administrative:

  • Foster a collaborative team culture and support employee development through management, coaching and mentorship.
  • Ensure departmental procedures, documentation, and operational processes remain current and effective.
  • Complete payroll duties for Event staff; including time off approval, bi-weekly timecard approvals etc.
  • Training, monitoring, supervision and performance evaluation of employees/team.
  • Lead, direct & motivate all employees while working in a “hands-on” environment.
  • Create and maintain up to date training manual for Event staff.
  • Training of new employees in departmental procedures and expectation as well as safety.
  • Complete scheduling of staff to ensure adequate coverage and monitor staff performance.
  • Ensure event secretarial duties such as managing registrations, start lists, and producing results are being completed and up to date.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Attend all Marketing departmental meetings.

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to address challenges efficiently, adapt to change, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to address problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Able to work in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Must be friendly, approachable, and enjoys engaging with people.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Sheets. Prior use of Click-up is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Lake Louise Ski Resort, the Bow Valley region, local businesses, and environmental considerations is an asset.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • Education or certification in Marketing, Event Planning, or related fields.
  • Experience in planning and executing events of various sizes.
  • Intermediate to advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for early or late work hours.
  • Must provide proof of a valid work permit, visa, or other authorzation permitting employment in Canada .

Work Schedule:

October to May: 5/2 work schedule.
May to October: 4/3 work schedule.
Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and long hours based on event demands.
