Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: Cardiac Health Across the Lifespan (CHAL)

INCLUDE-HER (Initiative for Inclusion in Cardiometabolic Women's Health Clinical Trials) is a new pan-Canadian network funded by the MUHC Foundation Forward Fund for Women's Health, bringing together over 30 investigators across 6 provinces, health care providers, and women with lived experience. The network's shared mission is to advance evidence, reduce gender disparities, and offer woman-centred solutions in cardiometabolic health.

Despite advances in awareness and integration of sex and gender in health research, women remain inadequately represented in randomized controlled trials for cardiometabolic conditions - which together account for the highest mortality and morbidity rates in women at all ages and reproductive stages. Cardiovascular disease alone accounts for 35% of deaths in women, many of which are potentially preventable. Addressing gender inequity in cardiometabolic research requires a comprehensive approach applied throughout the RCT life cycle, rather than a fragmented, disease-specific, or post-hoc strategy.

The Project Manager will work under the supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. Natalie Dayan (RI-MUHC), and in close collaboration with the network's thematic committees and working groups, to ensure that activities are carried out successfully, milestones are met efficiently, budget is managed, and challenges are managed appropriately. With administrative and operational oversight responsibilities, their expertise will be essential to the success of this high-impact network.

General Duties

Ensure the implementation and coordination of network activities to meet INCLUDE-HER’s objectives,

Organize and participate in small- and large-group meetings with members of the project team, Engage with group members in between meetings to ensure tasks are being completed, Oversee data collection activities using Redcap, Survey Monkey, Covidence, and other platforms, Consensus building activities May include trial design and protocol preparation in coordination with other teams May include development of REDCAP databases of CORE women-centred outcome sets Develop and launch awards Assist in the preparation of grants, scientific papers, and reports.
