We are currently looking for a Project Leader, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Inside Sales, who will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of special valve project orders. Specifically, the incumbent oversees the planning, execution and monitoring of all projects from start to finish, while ensuring that quality requirements and on-time deliveries are met.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate kick-off meetings for certain projects with all relevant departments of Velan.
• Create and manage the work plan in order to complete projects.
• Work collaboratively with representatives of cross-functional departments to complete projects.
• Establish a communication schedule and update stakeholders, including relevant staff and clients, on the progress of projects.
• Ensure that promised project dates are met by taking steps to reduce risks and taking corrective action when discrepancies are found; Identify risks and oversee plans to reduce them.
• Lead project status meetings and list action items with departmental and plant representatives.
• Report exceptions and changes to the Velan management team.

Your profile

• Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering or any other related field (DEC in mechanical engineering with relevant experience will be considered);
• 5-10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry;
• 3 to 5 years of experience in project management;
• Fluency in French and English (oral and written);
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite;
• Very good knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes in manufacturing plants;
• Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
