What You'll Do
Lead the identification, development and implementation of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, quality and cost performance in underground operations Engage frontline employees and supervisors to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and support field-level implementation of improvements Act as a liaison between operations, maintenance, electrical and contractor groups to coordinate CI and project work Coordinate project schedules and ensure all permitting, lockout and safety requirements are in place for safe execution of work Support Mine Department leaders by recommending improvements to systems, processes and operational practices Prioritize CI initiatives to focus on high-impact opportunities and validate results through data, feedback and observations Utilize EAM/Oracle and other systems to support work requests, requisitions and tracking of CI initiatives Ensure alignment of CI initiatives with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Contribute to performance standards development for key mining processes and support data quality (including MineSight) Maintain documentation and prepare reports on CI activities, progress and outcomes Provide coaching and mentorship to CI Interns and coordinate their work activities Promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements
What You'll Bring
Must have a Valid Underground Supervisor Certificate (Mines Branch certification required), or the ability to obtain one 6–8 years of experience in underground mining, with potash mining experience preferred (borer experience an asset) Strong understanding of underground mining operations, including safety, productivity and cost drivers Experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is considered an asset Knowledge of planning and scheduling processes and tools in an industrial environment Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of OH&S and mining regulations Excellent communication, interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to engage and influence diverse teams Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Project management experience, Lean Six Sigma or Green Belt training is an asset Experience working with contractors is an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience with EAM/Oracle systems Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork and change management
