Project Manager 1 Full-time, Permanent Position Is This Role for You? As Edmonton Airports' next Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering capital projects that support the safe, efficient, and future-focused operation of Edmonton International Airport. Reporting to the Manager, Projects, this role is essential to the successful planning and delivery of projects across Edmonton Airports' Capital Program, including work that supports maintenance, growth, operational resilience, and real estate development priorities. This is a hands-on project role for someone who enjoys bringing people, plans, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements together in a complex operational environment. You will act as a trusted project lead and internal partner, helping translate business needs into well-scoped, well-managed, and successfully delivered projects. The Capital Program includes a wide variety of project types, with individual project values ranging from approximately $50K to several million dollars. Initial focus will be on airside and/or civil infrastructure projects, with opportunities to support a broader mix of airport, commercial, operational, and development-related work over time. What you'll help deliver In this dynamic role, you will manage projects from early planning and scope development through procurement, execution, close-out, and turnover. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, operational teams, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to airport operations. Your project leadership will be especially important in balancing technical requirements, operational constraints, stakeholder needs, safety expectations, and financial accountability. You will help ensure projects are delivered in alignment with Edmonton Airports' standards, governance processes, and strategic priorities. This role is well-suited to a project manager who brings an owner's mindset, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to move work forward in a highly coordinated environment where safety, planning, and operational continuity matter.

As Project Manager, you will contribute directly to the successful delivery of airport infrastructure and capital improvements. Your work will help: · Maintain and improve critical airport assets and infrastructure. · Support safe and efficient airport operations. · Enable growth, development, and long-term business priorities. · Coordinate work in a complex, live operational environment. · Strengthen project governance, reporting, and delivery practices. · Build trusted relationships with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Attributes · Lead the planning and delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with approved scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and operational requirements. · Act as the owner's representative, coordinating consultants, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. · Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and resource plans to support business objectives. · Collaborate with operational, maintenance, planning, commercial, safety, security, and external stakeholders to successfully deliver projects in a live airport environment. · Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, airport procedures, and contractor requirements. · Monitor project performance, manage risks, issues, and scope changes, and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track. · Prepare project documentation, governance materials, status reports, and executive updates while communicating project progress, risks, and decisions effectively. · Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share project management knowledge, tools, and best practices across the organization. · Demonstrate sound judgment, strong organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to build productive working relationships. · Maintain an owner's mindset by balancing project objectives with long-term asset value, operational impacts, safety, maintainability, and responsible use of capital.

You Have: · Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, project management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. · 5+ years of project management experience delivering capital, infrastructure, construction, or operationally complex projects. · Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope, budget, schedule, risk, procurement, stakeholder management, and close-out. · Demonstrated ability to coordinate work in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. · Experience managing projects where safety, sequencing, access, communication, and operational impacts must be carefully planned. · Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare project reports, status updates, and executive-level summaries. · Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects or priorities at the same time. · Ability to build productive relationships and create a collaborative working environment. · Experience using project management, scheduling, collaboration, or reporting tools such as MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Excel, or similar systems. · Valid Class 5 Driver's License or provincial equivalent. · Ability to obtain and maintain the required airport security clearance and an acceptable criminal record check.

Additional Assets: · Project Management Professional designation, or working toward a PMP. · Professional designation such as P.Eng., CET, C.E.T., A.Sc.T., or similar. · Experience with airside, airfield, civil, utilities, transportation, infrastructure, or aviation-related projects. · Experience working in airports, transportation, utilities, industrial, municipal, or other regulated operational environments. · Experience with real estate, commercial development, or tenant improvement projects. · Experience with construction contracts, procurement processes, consultant management, or contractor oversight. · Knowledge of airport construction, airport operations, or work in secure/restricted environments.
