National Director of Tax, Estate and Insurance Planning

JOB STATEMENT: The National Director, Tax, Estate & Insurance Planning serves as a national technical resource and thought leader, providing advanced planning expertise, education and consultation to advisors and internal stakeholders across Canada. This role is responsible for delivering guidance on complex tax, estate, wealth transfer and insurance planning strategies while helping establish the organization as a leading source of technical expertise within the Canadian life and health insurance industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Serving as a trusted technical resource for advisors across Canada; Providing guidance on complex tax, estate, retirement, succession and insurance planning strategies; Reviewing advanced planning cases and provide independent, product-neutral recommendations; Developing technical articles, white papers, planning guides and industry commentary; Creating and delivering presentations, webinars and advisor education programs; Presenting at conferences, advisor meetings and industry events; Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments affecting advisors and clients; Supporting large and complex insurance cases involving business owners, professionals and affluent clients; Building relationships with advisors, accountants, lawyers and industry professionals; and Acting as an ambassador and recognized thought leader within the Canadian life and health insurance industry.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 10 years of experience in advanced planning, tax, estate, insurance, accounting, legal or financial planning roles. Deep expertise in Canadian taxation and estate planning. Strong understanding of life insurance and living benefit planning strategies. Proven public speaking and presentation experience. Demonstrated ability to write technical content for professional audiences. Professional designation such as CPA, CLU, CFP, TEP, CH.F.C., LL.B. or J.D. preferred. Knowledge of Canadian income taxation; corporate-owned life insurance; business succession planning; estate and wealth transfer strategies; trusts; retirement planning; charitable giving; shareholder planning; advanced planning for business owners and incorporated professionals.
