Position Summary: Chief Isaac Group of Companies is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for Bonanza Market. The assistant supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily grocery store operations. This role ensures excellent customer service, effective team leadership, proper inventory control, and achievement of sales and profitability goals. The Assistant Manager helps maintain a clean, safe, and fully stocked store environment. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management Assist in supervising day-to-day store operations Ensure shelves are stocked, faced, and properly labeled Monitor store cleanliness and safety standards Oversee opening and closing procedures Staff Supervision & Training Supervise cashiers, stockers, and department staff Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training employees Create and manage staff schedules Provide coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary support Customer Service Address and resolve customer complaints professionally Promote a positive shopping experience Step in to assist during peak hours as needed 🔹 Inventory & Merchandising Monitor inventory levels and coordinate reorders Reduce shrinkage and prevent loss Ensure promotional displays and signage are accurate Verify pricing accuracy and product rotation (FIFO) Financial Oversight Support sales targets and profitability goals Oversee cash handling and register reconciliation Assist with budgeting and expense control Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred) 2–5 years of retail experience (grocery preferred) Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Flexible schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) Skills & Competencies: Leadership and team motivation Conflict resolution Organizational and multitasking ability Attention to detail Basic financial and inventory management knowledge Customer-focused mindset Work Environment: Fast-paced retail environment Requires standing, walking, lifting, bending May involve handling perishable goods

In 2009, the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Trust was established as the sole shareholder of the Chief Isaac Group of Companies acting on behalf of the Trust's beneficiaries – the citizens of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in.

Our group of companies respectfully carries the name of this historic Chief who led the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in at the time of the Klondike Gold Rush during the late 1800s.
