About the Organization
Lake Shore Gold (a subsidiary of Pan American Silver) is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to the surface via a modern 1080m deep shaft capable of 4800tpd.

About the Opportunity
We are looking to hire an Exploration and Geology Manager to join our Exploration team in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day.
Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $160,000 - $180,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
The role of the Geology Manager will be to coordinate activities on the Company’s mine and regional projects including research of exploration targets and development of schedules. You will direct mineral exploration programs, overseeing geological mapping, drilling, and data interpretation to identify and evaluate potential resources. You will define strategies, manage budgets and safety, and guide mine site and regional teams in exploration and modeling to support project development, oversee joint venture agreements and land management. You will work closely with the corporate office to help identify potential M&A targets and work closely with the chief mine geologists to support production geology performance and mine drilling programs. You will also work closely with the Projects and Operation teams to assist with various projects and budget preparation requirements, and any other duties as may be assigned.
Reporting to the Country Manager**,** the Exploration and Geology Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee annual exploration strategies, budgets, and project timelines for both regional targets and mine sites.
- Lead the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify new exploration targets and refine 3D models.
- Manage diamond drilling, mapping, and sampling programs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and review technical reports, lead the resource estimation team, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Mentor and manage geologists and staff, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and local communities.
More About You
While our ideal candidate has the following qualifications, we welcome applicants who may not meet every criterion to apply.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or equivalent;
- 10–15+ years in mineral exploration or mining, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Registered as a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.).
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine), GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), and database systems.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
