Homes by Avi Group of Companies is seeking a motivated and highly collaborative individual to join our team as an Senior Manager - Project Delivery. Homes by Avi has been building family homes since 1978, with home building divisions in Calgary and Edmonton.

Senior Manager - Project Delivery

You will work under the direction of the Senior Manager – Operations to ensure that projects are monitored and completed on time, within budget and to the quality standards of Homes by Avi, Alberta Building Code and Alberta New Home Warranty Program. This position will be an integral connecting part of HBA project development, project construction and project procurement teams to support the growth of Avi Construction for third-party general contractor projects.

What You Will Do:

• Preliminary project pro-forma preparation with support from Sr. Manager - Operations.
• Project budget preparation;
• Selection and coordination of project consulting teams;
• Preparation of project construction schedules in consultation with Construction Manager, Site Superintendents and project PM’s;
• Preparation of combined project business plans for Operations Manager review;
• Working with Development department during project development approvals, project inspections and closeouts;
• Monitor health & safety performance ensuring it meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards
• Working with developer-clients and government authorities during project technical approvals and permitting processes;
• Support the development and implementation of LEAN construction practices for both PM and site staff;
• Construction contract administration;
• Overseeing and refine project cost control reporting;
• Cost variance management and reporting;
• Providing design input during value engineering process;
• Assisting in preparing detailed scopes of work for tendering;
• Analyzing tender bids with Construction Manager and Operations Manager;
• Support with coordination of condominium disclosure documentation packages;
• New Business development for ACMI (sourcing, proposal preparations and presentations);
• Providing services to ACMI clients as per management contracts;
• Oversee project portfolio ensuring project execution aligns with business strategy.
• Assist with team development, hiring and performance management;
• Support high-level project oversight to identify potential risks and ensure smooth execution;
• Help to refine existing or to develop and implement new systems and processes to manage projects and support continuous improvement across project teams;
• Oversee all project management functions, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget;
• Act as key point of contact for clients and partners, resolving issues and promoting repeat and referral business;
• Lead, coach, and support project managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and professional growth;
• Drive the strategic growth and structure of Avi Construction for 3rd party projects;
• Support the development of trade and supplier tender list while sourcing and vetting new trades and suppliers.
• Support in the creation of cost code allocation manual and PM onboarding manual;

Your Qualifications – The Must Have’s

• Diploma or University degree in architecture, architectural technology, structural engineering or a related construction discipline;
• 10 years of experience in multi-family housing or commercial construction;
• Sound understanding of multi-family construction practices and applicable; building codes/standards;
• Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and organizational abilities;
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Project;
• Articulate communicator and skilled negotiator;
• Outgoing, comfortable and willing to approach potential clients sourcing new construction management business for ACMI
