Job Description Chandos is supporting the delivery of a major, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure project in the National Capital Region. This is a large-scale, multi-phase capital program with complex stakeholder, security, and coordination requirements — a rare opportunity to apply senior-level scheduling discipline on a nationally significant build. Specific project details will be shared with shortlisted candidates in accordance with applicable security requirements. The Senior Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the overall master construction schedule for the project, ensuring full integration and coordination across all sub-trade and partner schedules. Reporting to the Project Controls / Project Management team, the Senior Scheduler combines advanced planning, Earned Value Management, change management, and risk analysis to deliver accurate, data-driven schedule forecasting that supports safe, on-time project delivery. The role engages internal teams, trade partners, and owner/government representatives, and provides mentorship to junior planning staff. • Master Schedule Development & Management: Develop, maintain, and manage the overall master construction schedule in Primavera P6, from proposal and baseline through execution, monthly updates, and closeout. • Schedule Integration & Coordination: Ensure compliance and execution of sub-trade and partner schedules, directing full integration and coordination across all project schedules. • Resource & Progress Management: Oversee resource allocation, leveling, and maintenance; validate weekly and monthly progress against baseline, milestones, and the critical path. • Bid Package Scheduling: Create scope-specific schedules for bid packages and coordinate them with existing scopes of work. • Change & Risk Management: Implement change management processes, conduct delay analyses and quantitative risk assessments, and develop recovery schedules as required. • Reporting & Earned Value: Issue weekly and monthly schedule updates, narrative reports, and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics for project leadership, owner, and government stakeholders. • Stakeholder Engagement: Organize and lead planning and scheduling meetings with internal teams, trade partners, and owner/government representatives. • On-Site Validation: Perform on-site data validation during scheduled on-site periods to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reported progress. • Mentorship & Standards: Mentor junior planning and scheduling staff and contribute to scheduling best practices, corporate standards, and continuous improvement. Qualifications • Education: Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related technical discipline. • Professional Certifications: Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Gold Seal designations are considered an asset. • Years of Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive planning and scheduling experience on large-scale capital construction projects, including ownership of master/integrated schedules on complex, multi-stakeholder programs. • Technical Competencies: Expertise in critical-path scheduling, schedule integration, resource loading and leveling, Earned Value Management (EVM), delay analysis, recovery scheduling, and quantitative risk analysis. • Software Knowledge: Advanced mastery of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; familiarity with Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel is an asset. • Industry Experience: Experience on complex industrial, institutional, government, or heavy-civil projects. Nuclear, secure-site, or other government-sector experience is highly valued; familiarity with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), alliance, or design-build models is an asset. • Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the level of Government of Canada security clearance required for the project; Controlled Goods Program registration may be required. • Communication & Stakeholder Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to constructively challenge assumptions and present complex schedule metrics clearly to project, owner, and executive stakeholders.
