Overview Job Summary The Shipping Technician Lead is a working lead responsible for performing shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse operations while providing day-to-day coordination and guidance to Shipping Technicians and peer team members. This role serves as a subject matter expert for departmental processes, supports workload prioritization, assists with training, acts as a resource for team members, assists with problem solving and process improvements, and promotes compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards. Responsibilities Key Accountabilities In the working lead role, performs full range of shipping and inventory mangement responsibilities to include: shipping functions of picking, packing, and all required documentation; operate, clean, and maintain department equipment; participation in deviation investigations, corrective and preventation actions activities and verifications, perform inspection, documentation and verification of incoming goods and supplies; perform inventory management activities. Demonstrates leadership through influence by serving as a role model for teamwork, professionalism, compliance, and customer focus while fostering strong collaboration across departments. Provide day-today guidance and support to Shipping Technicians and other peer team members to ensure operational efficiency and adherence and copliance with quality, safety, and operational standards and priorities. Coordinate daily workflow with leadership and assist in balancing departmental workload to meet shipping schedules and customer commitments. Serve as a subject matter expert for shipping, receiving, inventory control, ERP transactions, and departmental procedures. Assist with onboarding and training of new employees, ensuring understanding of departmental processes, SOPs, quality requirements, and safety practices. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment through collaboration and effective communication. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, inventory accuracy, shipping, or safety and escalates concerns to leadership. Assist leadership in implementing departmental initiatives, process changes, and continuous improvement activities. Monitor daily operational performance and help drive resolution of recurring issues. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Networking/Key relationships Works closely with customer service, sales, service, quality and manufacturing departments Supports coordination between Commercial Operations and Shipping team members Qualifications Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position: High School diploma required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, or a related field is considered an asset. Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in shipping, warehousing, inventory control, or logistics operations. Demonstrated experience serving as a trainer, mentor, lead, or subject matter expert in a team environment preferred. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits a disciplined approach to work ensuring thoroughness, consistency, validation, and accuracy in all tasks and work product. Strong ability to speak, read, and write in English fluently. Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or mak-ing exceptions to the years of experience requirement.
