The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the development and delivery of educational programs and will be responsible for supporting the MT Academy Director in all aspects of operationalizing and coordinating of all MT Academy programming as well as overseeing the CPD activities across all jurisdictions in which the Firm operates. Salary Range (Toronto or Vancouver Only): $90,000 – $95,000 annually The offered salary may vary based on the candidate’s job-specific knowledge, skills, and experience. As a Manager, MT Academy, you will be: MT Academy – Program Operations and Delivery Supporting the MT Academy Director in all aspects of operationalizing and coordinating of all MT Academy programming including student, associate, income partner and equity partner programs. Duties include, but are not limited to: Supporting the MT Academy Director with the ongoing development and delivery of the Legal Knowledge and Practice skills components of MT Academy programming, including student programs and various Firm-wide programs. Supporting the ongoing review of external faculty and external programming to support the continued development of this offering for the Client Development, Leadership and Practice Skills Curricula and leading the planning, preparation for, delivery, follow-up, tracking and assessment of these programs. In collaboration with the MT Academy Director, leading the operationalization and coordination of MT Academy programming, including planning, preparation for, delivery, follow-up, tracking and assessment of all programs delivered nationally, working closely with the MT Academy Specialists and talent coordinators/specialists Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Talent and Student Directors, to support the continued to development and delivery of national orientation programming, with a focus on consistency of experience across offices. Assessing program effectiveness, including reviewing feedback from participants and faculty, and making recommendations for improvements to content, delivery methods, speakers and timing. Communicating with lawyers, senior leaders and key stakeholders across multiple departments and regions to determine, plan and execute MT Academy priorities. Supporting the administration and ongoing enhancement of learning platforms and tools (Workday Learning and espresso), including ensuring accuracy of content and identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation. MT Academy – Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulatory Compliance Overseeing the CPD activities across all jurisdictions in which the Firm operates, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and MT Academy programming objectives. Duties include, but are not limited: Maintaining in-depth knowledge of CPD accreditation requirements and regulatory regimes, and providing guidance on program eligibility, accreditation strategy and compliance considerations. Overseeing CPD processes and frameworks, including accreditation, tracking and reporting, ensuring effective systems, standards and practices are in place and consistently applied. Providing oversight and direction on CPD considerations for internal and client-facing programming, including ensuring appropriate alignment with accreditation requirements across jurisdictions. Working closely with the MT Academy Coordinator responsible for CPD to support effective execution of accreditation, tracking and compliance processes, including providing guidance on complex or multi-jurisdictional matters. Supporting the identification and resolution of CPD-related risks or issues, including those relating to lawyers with obligations in multiple jurisdictions or client-facing programming. MT Academy – Team Leadership With oversight from the MT Academy Director, Professional Resources, in managing the day-to-day functional activities of the MT Academy co-ordinator who is a direct report by working effectively with them to achieve goals and objectives through assigning and supervising work as well as collaborating with peers across teams and functional groups. Working closely with the MT Academy Director, supporting the effective functioning of the MT Academy by collaborating with team members to advance priorities and deliver on objectives; providing coordination, guidance and hands-on support across initiatives as required, and working with colleagues across the MT Academy, the MT Professional Journey Office and other functional groups to ensure alignment and execution. Department Administration Ensuring the MT Academy brand is consistently applied across MT Academy materials and communications. Leading and supporting the application of project management principles to MT Academy initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency and operational effectiveness. Overseeing national tracking and reporting of MT Academy program activities, including supporting the preparation of reports and analysis on program delivery, participation and impact. Assessing and contributing to the ongoing development and refinement of all protocols, workflows, templates and tracking systems. Responding promptly to requests from internal and external clients – providing them needed direction, assistance, materials and resources. Participating in meetings and initiatives related to MT Academy and broader Firm priorities, contributing expertise, analysis and operational leadership as required. Preparing reports and updates on MT Academy activities and initiatives for the MT Academy Director and other stakeholders. Attending meetings with the MT Academy Director, regularly to provide updates and other information about the activities and objectives of the MT Academy Team, and specifically in relation to team member who is a direct report. Participating in meetings and activities of the Professional Journey Office and the Professional Resources Group. Contributing expertise, independent thinking and analysis as a team lead or team member on group or Firm initiatives, as needed. As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile: LLB or a Bachelor’s degree combined with 5 years’ experience in the development and delivery of educational programs. Experience in legal practice or in working with lawyers in a non-practice environment. Substantial experience in designing, delivering and managing Professional Development programs for legal professionals (lawyers and/or paralegals). Experience in providing services to, working with and influencing senior internal clients (legal professionals and leadership). Experience in managing a team of people effectively with the ability to create enthusiasm and cooperation within a team setting, including an integrative and influencing approach to create and implement programs to directly support the business objectives of the Firm. Experience with webinar and or ‘capture’ technologies an asset. Strong communicator able to provide clear oral and written instructions. Organized, proactive and detail-oriented with a strong ability to think practically and independently. Some understanding of project management principles and how to apply them to achieve objectives. Ability to manage team workload in fast-paced, high pressure situations, with simultaneous demands from multiple internal clients, competing priorities and tight deadlines. Strong command of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. French language capability an asset.
