This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Consultant, Cloud Engineer based in Canada. This role is a senior client-facing consulting position focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Microsoft Azure cloud environments. You will lead the definition of landing zones, governance frameworks, and secure cloud architectures that enable scalable and resilient digital platforms. The position combines deep technical engineering with strategic advisory responsibilities, working directly with clients to shape cloud transformation roadmaps. You will collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams, including architects, engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful end-to-end implementation. The environment is fast-paced and consulting-driven, requiring strong leadership, communication, and solution design expertise. This is a high-impact role where you will influence both technical direction and client decision-making across complex cloud programs. \n
Accountabilities: You will be responsible for leading cloud architecture design and delivery across Azure environments, ensuring secure, scalable, and well-governed solutions aligned with client business objectives. Lead requirements gathering, solution design, and technical scoping for Azure-based cloud initiatives Design and implement cloud landing zones, governance models, and secure infrastructure architectures Decompose complex requirements into actionable tasks and provide accurate effort estimation Oversee project delivery activities, including coordination of onshore and offshore engineering teams Identify, assess, and communicate technical and delivery risks to stakeholders and leadership Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to support proposals, solution design, and client presentations Define standards for infrastructure solutions including networking, identity, security, and operations Requirements: You are an experienced cloud consulting professional with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, infrastructure, and governance, capable of leading complex enterprise transformation projects. 5+ years of experience leading consulting projects in Azure cloud environments Strong expertise in at least three areas such as landing zones, governance, identity and access (Entra), security architecture, networking, DR/BCP, observability, or FinOps 5+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure tools and technologies including IaC, networking, security, and automation Strong knowledge of Azure landing zone design and enterprise cloud architecture principles Experience working with AKS/Kubernetes, virtual machines, storage, and hybrid cloud environments Microsoft Azure certifications required, including AZ-104 and AZ-305, plus additional certifications in infrastructure, security, or DevOps Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams including onshore and offshore resources Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts in a clear, business-focused way Strong understanding of Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery methodologies Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Benefits: Competitive senior-level consulting compensation Opportunity to work on large-scale Azure cloud transformation programs Client-facing role with strategic influence over enterprise cloud architecture Exposure to complex multi-industry environments and advanced cloud technologies Flexible work arrangements depending on client engagement needs Continuous learning and certification development support Opportunity to lead global, cross-functional delivery teams High-impact role shaping enterprise cloud governance and modernization strategies
