Company Description Universal Light Way Building is an Islamic architectural organization focused on designing buildings that promote solidarity, security, and protection. Officially mandated by the White Heart Union institution, the organization supports effective and sustainable philanthropic initiatives through the conception of Islamic buildings for the benefit of humanity. Guided by core values of Honor, Hope, Dedication, Justice, and Equity, its work includes projects such as Holy Mosques, sustainable housing, schools, hospitals, orphanages, and humanitarian shelters. The organization follows a structured architectural process that includes initial design, environmental analysis, and strategic planning to ensure thoughtful and responsible development.
Role Description This volunteer architect role is a remote position focused on the conceptualization and design of Islamic architectural projects, including religious, residential, educational, and humanitarian facilities. Main responsibilities include collaborating on initial architectural designs, developing and refining architectural plans, and contributing to the validation and improvement of planning documents. The architect will analyze site and environmental constraints, support the creation of strategic architectural action plans, and coordinate with multidisciplinary contributors to align designs with project goals. The role also involves preparing design documentation, supporting integration with relevant software tools, and ensuring that projects reflect the organization’s mission and values. Main qualifications Demonstrated skills in architecture and architectural design, with experience in conceptual and detailed building planning. Ability to work with software development and integration teams to align architectural concepts with digital tools and platforms. Experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and oversight of design deliverables. Proficiency with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools) and strong technical drawing abilities. Understanding of Islamic architectural principles or willingness to learn and respect faith-based design requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and environmental assessment skills, with attention to safety and sustainability. Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear communication, documentation, and time management. Relevant academic background in architecture or a closely related field; prior experience with humanitarian or nonprofit projects is an advantage.
