If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.  What Is The Opportunity?  The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and AtkinsRealis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.   Directly reporting to the Welding Manager and under the general direction of the applicable Superintendent, the Welding General Foreperson will assist in the coordination and scheduling of the Feeder installation welding program and training within compliance of our CWP/ITP’s. The Welding General Foreperson will also coordinate with sub-contractors to align that technical support is sufficient to support execution milestones.   What You’ll Do Here

Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public Responsible to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies. In collaboration with the feeder Series lead. Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look ahead schedules for forecasting and planning Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy Plan and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules Assume responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project schedule and budget Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc. as required Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc. Oversee and directly support work during execution phase, including monitoring for performance, provision of guidance to the field team, reporting to line management, leading problem-solving efforts and development of adverse condition recovery plans Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications/codes and CITP’s. Ensure Weld consumables are tracked and ordered to meet project demands Identify and support CITP and/or DCN revisions as necessary to support field work Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines Manage and maintain OPEX in the project database for future use Attend and participate in the Plan of the Day and other meetings as required Coordinate Foreperson and execution crew in the execution of their assigned duties Coordinate across all functions of the project as required to achieve task(s) goals Provide leadership to field supervisors and respective Craft Labor Ensure staff works within the WPS of the weld program and compliance with all customer procedures and processes

  What You Bring To The Team

Red Seal Journeyperson Welder certification is required Minimum 5-10 years of demonstrated experience supervising welding activities on large industrial, infrastructure, or nuclear construction projects. Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Basic presentation skills Basic blue print understanding

  Reason for vacancy: Replacement    Salary range: $68.08- $70.28   Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
