Role Description The Project Manager at J5 Design is a full-time, on-site role based in either Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with client expectations. Day-to-day work includes developing project plans, managing timelines and milestones, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and facilitating communication among clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. The Project Manager monitors project risks and issues, organizes inspections and quality reviews, and oversees logistics related to project activities, including resources, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. The role also involves preparing progress reports, supporting continuous improvement of project processes, and contributing to a collaborative, human-centred culture within the broader organization.
Qualifications Strong project management skills, including experience with Project Management, scheduling, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication. 10+ years experience managing projects in consulting, technology, design, healthcare, public sector, or corporate environments. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through. Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Relevant education and/or certification in project management (e.g., PMP or equivalent). Experience leading custom software application development projects following a formal project management methodology (e.g., SDLC, Agile, waterfall). Experience leading service desk projects.
