Senior Project Controller Vancouver or Calgary Contract OR Permanent
Introduction This role is ideal for a hands-on Project Controls professional with strong experience in cost control and scheduling on large-scale projects. Sitting within a growing minerals and metals team, the position focuses on supporting project delivery through budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
We’re looking for a senior-level candidate who is technically strong in P6 and Ecosys and enjoys working closely with project teams to drive accuracy and insights. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to continue building depth in project controls within a collaborative environment, while remaining an individual contributor rather than moving into management.
Responsibilities Establish project controls for the project utilising standard Ausenco systems, by creating the control budget using the work breakdown structure and control accounts against which trends, scope changes, commitments, payments, forecasts and budget variances are monitored and reported. Assist in the change management process to track and control project adjustments effectively. Continually monitor and update project budget and cost forecasts by engaging with project teams to make sure that forecasts accurately reflect the current scope and schedule. Prepare detailed reports for managers, providing clear insights into project progress and financials.
Requirements 6 – 15 years of experience in project control or a related field. Previous experience in project accounting is an asset. Previous experience in mining, construction or engineering working on large-scale projects. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field Experienced in using Oracle, EcoSys and P6 Demonstrated success overseeing technical reviews, design coordination, and engineering governance. Background in mining, energy, heavy industrial, or complex infrastructure projects is preferred.
