PROJECT OFFICER – TWO (2) POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Department of Inuit Training (Makigiaqta)

Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated

Located in Iqaluit, NU

Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Inuit Training Programs, the Project Officer will work on reviewing funding proposal, monitor, evaluate and coordinates work related to the Makigiaqta Inuit Training Cooperation. As well as meeting and working with stakeholders, governments, training organization and other sectors. The position establishes the performance framework, measures indicators and outcomes, develops quality assurance strategies and maintains relationships with program partners. This position will provide an informed and fully evidence-supported basis for decisions making on necessary amendments and improvements to programs and respect program criteria, ensure effective distribution of funding to communities/committee to maximize desirable outcomes, builds capacity and ensures commitments set out in the objectives are achieved.

To be invited for an interview; have a Grade 12 High school diploma with 1-3 years’ experience in a related field; The candidate must have good problem-solving abilities. Is a self-starter with strong motivation and the ability to work under stress and pressure as well as the ability to work with demanding deadlines. Must have the ability to work in a politically sensitive environment and demonstrated sensitivity to Inuit Issues. The candidate will knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement of NTI’s mission, as well as federal and territorial government mechanism’s and of NTIs Corporate Governance system. Fluency in the Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun language is a considerable asset.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $106,400.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
