In this position you will be reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager. As the Continuous Improvement Specialist , you support the Oakville site through its Continuous Improvement journey. In this role, the CI Specialist will be the primary resource for our fundamental CI tools, manage CORE Certification, and support the site’s progression in CORE Operating System. This position is working onsite at Oakville facility - ON, Canada. Relocation assistance will be provided. What You Will Do Assist a Customer Group as a CI Specialist with focus on developing their Maturity in the CORE Framework. Serve as the site 5S/TPM Champion and drive the 5S and TPM Maturity. Support Training and coaching on the CORE Operating System and COSMIC. Lead, Co-Lead, and Participate in various types of Kaizen Event (5S, TPM, SW, CPS, 3P, VSM, etc.) including follow-up and closure of all actions. Organize and support CORE, Lean and Continuous Improvement training activities to develop skills across Operations. (Lean Simulations, Truck Factory, Process Optimization Boot Camp Training). Support the CORE Certification process for the site employees, and coach and develop new Kaizen event leaders. Participate as a member of the CORE Council and CORE Meetings. Manage and Chair IDEA Program Meetings – including supporting the implementation and reporting of the savings. Coach and mentor management on lean principles, cell design to ensure alignment on L&F objectives. Support the Annual Goal Alignment Process, Macro Plan. Development, and sustainment of the CORE Control Room. Support new technology and Digital initiatives, by managing small projects to support annual Improvement Targets. Support Lean transformation activities for the site and development and maturity of the CORE Culture. Support the implementation, and the development of 3D Models for 3D Printing. Celebrate successes in achieving Continuous Improvement and CORE targets. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated projects' leadership experience. Working Experience in all MS office applications. ERP experience Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP. Qualifications We Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or in relevant discipline. Aerospace industry experience. Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Techniques and applications. Six Sigma Black Belt Certified. Familiarity with Agile methodology. CORE Champion and/or CORE Professional Level Certifications. Ability to work on own with little supervision and demonstrate “Bias for action” to drive tangible change. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to interact and communicate well at all levels of the Organization. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
