Under the supervision of the Project Manager and Pre-Construction Manager, the Field Coordinator is involved in the overall construction process.

Their main mandate is to provide technical support to the estimation team in the bid process and to the production team upon project start-up and throughout the work. Specifically, for this mandate, the Field Coordinator will provide design and planning support to the construction team and methodology development for activities including pile installation, concrete construction, and heavy lifting, to name a few. Additionally, this person will contribute significantly to the sequencing and scheduling of all construction activities.

What you will do

  • Assist the project team with coordination and project support;

  • Collaborate and keep the lines of communication open when working with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients;

  • Take pride in your ability to effectively review, interpret and update the construction schedules;

  • Utilize your passion for organization through maintenance, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents;

  • Assemble, attend, document and emphasize the importance of project meetings;

  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project

  • Embrace the learning experience and be open to internal career opportunities;

  • Follow up and ensure the quality of the self-performed work on site (quality control). Be close to the team members on site to ensure work is performed properly.

  • Prepare and coordinate non-conformance reports when quality issues arise.

  • Be part of the project team to coordinate the work on a daily basis.

  • Coordination of the technical aspect of the work (methodologies, planning, establish materials and equipment that are needed, etc.)

  • Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process

This role could be for you if you have

  • 1-3 years’ experience in the civil construction industry;
  • A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • A proven track record of project coordination and team collaboration;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills with enthusiasm for innovation;
  • Knowledge of the Greater Vancouver market.
  • 14/7 rotation (14 days on, 7 days off)
