About the Job We are hiring a Project Trackwork Coordinator to join our Construction team.
Expected Compensation The exact salary you will earn is dependent on the specific project to which you are assigned. Currently, the salary range for projects you may be assigned to in the position of Trackwork Coordinator is $90K to $110K.
What You Will Be Doing? Act as the primary point of contact for trackwork subcontractors. Coordinate daily activities and resolve conflicts between subcontractors and site operations. Ensure all trackwork activities comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Collaborate with superintendents and discipline leads to manage trackwork logistics and workflow. Review trackwork designs and ensure alignment with project plans and technical requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to subcontractors regarding track installation and tolerances. Assist in the development and implementation of trackwork methodologies. Support the procurement team in RFP preparation related to track materials and subcontractor selection. Monitor the progress of track installation and related activities, ensuring adherence to schedules. Develop and maintain detailed trackwork schedules and identify potential delays, proposing mitigation strategies. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with rail construction quality standards. Coordinate testing and inspections with third-party agencies when required. Ensure documentation and reporting of any quality-related issues. Ensure all subcontractors adhere to OHSA, Metrolinx safety protocols, and corporate policies. Conduct site audits and implement corrective actions as necessary. Participate in safety meetings and promote a culture of safety on-site, including development and implementation of Mobile Equipment and Pedestrian Interface drawings. Liaise with the Trackwork Manager and other project stakeholders to provide updates. Address concerns raised by the project team or subcontractors. Prepare and present progress reports and updates as required. Attend weekly construction coordination meetings with subcontractors. Coordinate with the Technical Team and Designers to ensure the required shop drawings and technical documentation are in place before activity starts. Maintain a strong understanding of trackwork subcontracts to facilitate efficient subcontract management. Liaise with the Subcontract and Procurement departments to manage change processes.
What We Are Looking For? Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in trackwork, civil construction, or rail infrastructure projects. Experience coordinating subcontractors in a rail or transportation infrastructure environment is preferred Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office, including MS Project. Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam is required. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, work plans, safety measures and flagging requirement when working within proximity of high tensions transmission power lines and rail tracks is an asset
