Procurement Specialist Ottawa - Gatineau SUMMARY Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting and driving the effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for the successful delivery of the Alexandra Bridge Project. This role plays a critical part in the project procurement function and works closely with project managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with project objectives, timelines, and budgets. You will be responsible for managing procurement activities from sourcing and supplier engagement through contract administration and logistics coordination, helping ensure project success while maintaining compliance, quality, and cost effectiveness. PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE STRATEGIC SOURCING & PROCUREMENT Source and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and specialized services. Manage procurement activities to support project requirements and schedules. Support contract development, negotiation, and administration activities. Coordinate procurement schedules to align with project timelines and construction milestones. SUPPLIER & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support procurement objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and address procurement-related issues in a timely manner. Communicate procurement updates, risks, and recommendations to project stakeholders. PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE Manage supplier documentation, contracts, and procurement records. Support procurement governance, reporting, and compliance requirements. Ensure procurement activities align with organizational policies, procedures, and project standards. Maintain accurate procurement data to support reporting and decision-making. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT & SUSTAINABILITY Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and operational efficiency. Support the implementation of procurement technologies and process enhancements. Contribute to sustainability objectives and Indigenous procurement initiatives. Support additional procurement-related activities as required to meet project needs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of procurement experience within construction, infrastructure or major project environments. Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, procurement processes and contract administration. Experience working with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Procore or similar platforms. Excellent analytical, negotiation and relationship management skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Bilingualism in English and French is highly desirable. WHAT WE OFFER Expected Base Salary: $70,000-$95,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Annual performance-based bonus.
