Description

The Department of Family Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Project Coordinator. This Part-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

This role will support activities of the Makoyoh'sokoi (MKS) program, a free wholistic physical activity-based wellness program for Indigenous women, guided by Indigenous practices and traditions, and facilitated by Indigenous women in your community. This position reports to the Principal Investigator, with day to day collaboration with the MKS Project Lead, and will work in close collaboration with current members of the MKS Team.

The Coordinator's primary purpose is to manage the day-to-day operations of the MKS program by coordinating with all of the communities Facilitators. In addition to coordinating with community Facilitators, overall project activities under the supervision of the Project Lead and in close collaboration with the MKS team will be a core responsibility for the Facilitator Coordinator.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Works with the Program Manager to distribute Health Stories (individual handouts with participant results). Works with the Program Manager to distribute Community Stories (reports to community with aggregated participant data) Coordinates with Program Facilitators and triages questions, comments, or concerns to appropriate team members Advertises the program for participant recruitment Works with each Community Champion to find a Facilitator. Travels to communities to facilitate community connection. Ensures all day-to-day responsibilities of the Facilitators are being observed including: Reporting requirements are being tracked and sent in Ensuring facilities and fitness instructors are booked Ensuring budget is followed and updated as the program progresses Ensures opening and closing ceremony is planned and implemented efficiently Ensures surveys and fitness measures weeks are complete and staffed Ensures photo-voice projects are planned and implemented efficiently Ensures Facilitators have access to all equipment needed for measurements Coordinates with the Indigenous Program Lead. Culture, Community & Protocol to plan an annual spring celebration to bring together all communities and facilitators Prints and delivers or ships all program material needed for each community Attends all relevant meetings and takes meeting minutes, including but not limited to: Weekly meeting with the Program Manager Facilitator training and ongoing bi-weekly meetings with the Facilitator Trainer Facilitator review Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in a Business is required. A Masters Degree (or equivalent in experience) within the arts, education, kinesiology, social sciences, health sciences discipline will be preferred Minimum 5 years of related experience; Knowledge of and experience with project coordination; A combination of education and experience will be considered Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Internet skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Demonstrated ability for professional report writing; Ability to problem solve in complex situations Demonstrated strong communication, team and customer service skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments; A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are critical to success
