About the role

The Manager, Business Analysis is a senior player-manager role within Keolis Canada’s IT team. The incumbent leads the national IT Business Analysis function, directly managing team members while personally owning a Senior IT Business Analyst mandate.

Operating in a bilingual environment that includes B2G (business-to-government) relationships, this role sits at the intersection of IT strategy and operational delivery, translating business requirements from a complex East/West operating environment into technology solutions that advance Keolis Canada’s 5-year IT roadmap. The Manager, Business Analysis plays a critical role in bridging two divergent technology stacks, supporting integration initiatives, and establishing consistent requirements practices across the national portfolio.

The role reports to the Canadian IT Director and collaborates closely with Keolis North America Shared Services, Lines of Business Operations leadership, and counterpart IT functions in Canada. This role can be done either at our Edmonton or Calgary, AB locations.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports: providing direction, performance feedback, and career development support.

  • Establish and maintain consistent BA standards, tools, and practices across the national team - spanning requirements elicitation, documentation, use-case development, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Foster a collaborative team culture that bridges East/West organizational differences inherited.

IT Business Partnership

  • Serve as the senior IT Business Partner to Canadian lines of business, building trusted relationships with LOBs and operational leaders.

  • Proactively identify technology needs and pain points across operations, translating them into structured business cases, solution briefs, and roadmap inputs for the IT Director.

  • Lead requirements gathering, current-state analysis, and future-state definition for IT initiatives affecting LOBs, including eCommerce platforms ERP, CRM, HRIS etc.

  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with operations and IT stakeholders to validate requirements and solution designs.

Roadmap Execution & IT Initiative Delivery

  • Drive the business analysis workstream across the Keolis Canada 5-year IT roadmap, ensuring LOB requirements are accurately captured and traceable through delivery.

  • Partner with Solution Architects, IT Program Managers, and third-party vendors to ensure requirements are delivered as intended; manage scope, change requests, and acceptance criteria.

  • Support integration planning for technology stack consolidation, including across the application landscape.

  • Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice (EA CoP), representing LOB and requirements perspectives in architecture decisions.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Act as a primary point of contact for LOB stakeholders on all IT project matters, managing expectations and communicating status, risks, and dependencies.

  • Prepare and present business requirements documentation, solution options papers, and project updates to Director-level and LOB leadership audiences.

  • Ensure requirements artefacts meet the standards of Keolis North America IT governance and are aligned with the Agile delivery model where applicable.

  • Coordinate with the other IT BAs to align practices, share knowledge, and deliver integrated solutions where East/West systems overlap.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and digital capability across LOBs through technology, working with operational stakeholders to build the business case.

  • Support analysis and vendor evaluation for new technology platforms, contributing domain expertise in transit operations, eCommerce, and workforce management.

  • Promote data-driven decision-making by supporting analytics and BI requirements definition in partnership with the Data & Analytics team.

Required Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of progressive IT business analysis experience, with at least 2 years in a team lead, senior, or supervisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience as an IT Business Partner or senior BA in complex, multi-LOB or multi-site organizations.

  • Proficiency in requirements elicitation, process mapping, use-case and user-story authoring, and business case development.

  • Experience with enterprise platforms including ERP, CRM, and/or HRIS systems in a mid-to-large enterprise context.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate effectively from frontline operations teams to Director-level leadership.

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and ITSM frameworks.

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred / Assets

  • Experience in transportation, transit, logistics, and B2G (business-to-government) regulated industries.

  • Exposure to eCommerce platforms and digital ticketing or booking systems.

  • Familiarity with enterprise integration concepts including APIs, middleware, and data exchange.

  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, or PMP certification.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset given the national East/West scope.

  • Experience supporting post-merger IT integration or technology harmonization programs.
