Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Manager to join our team, supporting a major linear infrastructure project in Hamilton, Ontario.
The successful candidate will play a critical leadership role in integrating environmental requirements across all technical disciplines, ensuring compliance with environmental approvals, and delivering high-quality environmental outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Coordination
- Report to the Team Environmental Lead on all environmental matters within assigned track segments
- Coordinate closely with the Environmental Design and Approvals Manager and subject matter experts to ensure the successful and timely completion of Design, Development & Integration (DD&I) studies
Environmental Design Integration
- Lead the integration of environmental requirements and DD&I study outcomes across all technical disciplines
- Ensure alignment with Environmental Assessment (EA) approvals, commitments, and regulatory requirements
Collaboration & Risk Resolution
- Work collaboratively with design and construction teams to embed environmental requirements into project execution
- Identify, assess, and resolve environmental risks and issues within assigned project areas
Compliance & Execution
- Ensure all environmental commitments, mitigation measures, and approval conditions are implemented, tracked, and documented throughout the project lifecycle
Deliverables & Scheduling
- Take ownership of environmental deliverables, including Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)
- Manage schedules, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure timely and compliant submission of deliverables

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree considered an asset)

Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated experience in environmental management for large-scale infrastructure or construction projects

Demonstrated experience in environmental design integration and working within multidisciplinary teams

Strong knowledge of Ontario environmental legislation, Environmental Assessment (EA) processes, and industry best practices

Proven ability to manage environmental deliverables, schedules, and regulatory commitments

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence across teams
