Job Description – Senior Project Manager (ERP Transformation)
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple strategic ERP transformation initiatives within a large, complex enterprise environment. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact projects across procurement modernization, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, HRIS, workforce management, complex scheduling, and other enterprise business capabilities. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end project leadership, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and executive reporting.
Position Details Role: Senior Project Manager Project: ERP Transformation Initiatives Location: Canada (Remote) Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings as required Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Mountain Time)
Work Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work and perform services from within Canada due to network and data security requirements. Equipment: The successful candidate must provide their own computer and equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and remote access technologies.
Key Responsibilities The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for: Leading multiple concurrent ERP transformation initiatives from initiation through implementation. Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements. Developing and maintaining project governance documentation including project charters, business cases, project plans, executive briefings, status reports, and steering committee materials. Managing project risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and escalations across multiple workstreams. Coordinating cross-functional delivery teams including business, technical, vendor, and executive stakeholders. Monitoring project performance against schedule, scope, budget, and quality objectives. Providing executive-level reporting and governance updates to senior leadership and steering committees. Supporting organizational change and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Ensuring successful coordination across ERP functional domains including Procurement, Finance, HRIS, Workforce Management, Scheduling, and related enterprise platforms.
Required Qualifications Candidates must demonstrate the following: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum 12 years of experience managing complex IT or ERP implementation projects. Minimum 12 years of experience defining project scope, schedules, deliverables, governance, risks, issues, dependencies, and project controls. Minimum 12 years of experience preparing project documentation including project charters, business cases, project plans, executive briefings, governance documentation, and status reporting. Minimum 12 years of experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise platform solutions. Minimum 8 years of public sector experience (Federal or Provincial Government preferred). Minimum 2 years of experience delivering ERP budgeting and forecasting solutions. Minimum 2 years of experience managing HRIS implementations within ERP environments. Minimum 2 years of experience delivering Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions within ERP environments. Demonstrated experience managing enterprise procurement initiatives including: Source-to-Contract (S2C) Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Contract-to-Pay (C2P) Supplier Management Invoice Management Compliance and Reporting Experience managing complex HRIS, Workforce Management, Scheduling, or Pay Interpretation projects. Experience delivering budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, or fiscal-year lifecycle solutions. Strong experience preparing executive-level governance materials, briefing notes, steering committee presentations, decision papers, risk summaries, and dependency reporting. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, interdependencies, risks, and executive escalations. Ability to work remotely from within Canada during Mountain Time business hours. Ability to provide a portfolio of previous project work with annotated work samples.
Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications will be considered strong assets: Active PMP or PgMP certification issued by PMI. 10+ years of stakeholder management experience within large, complex organizations. 10+ years of experience providing strategic recommendations on complex technical initiatives. Extensive experience delivering projects using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies. Experience managing large-scale ERP implementations or custom enterprise software projects. Previous experience supporting ERP transformation initiatives within the Canadian public sector. Senior leadership experience in public sector organizations. Experience managing multi-team enterprise IT delivery environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills with both executive and technical audiences. Proven ability to facilitate executive meetings, governance committees, and cross-functional workshops. Experience supporting ERP modernization initiatives involving Procurement, Financial Planning, HRIS, Workforce Management, Scheduling, or Complex Pay Interpretation.
