The PMO Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for leading the Project Management Office and ensuring successful delivery of projects across the organization. In this role, the PMO Manager will establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks to support consistent execution. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing the project portfolio, coordinating resource allocation, monitoring timelines, budgets, and risks, and providing guidance and support to project coordinators. The PMO Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, sales, and leadership to align project priorities with business objectives and drive continuous improvement in project processes. This role also involves preparing regular status reports, facilitating cross-functional communication, and promoting best practices in project and program management.
Key Responsibilities -Develop and maintain PMO frameworks, governance processes, and project management standards. -Oversee project portfolio prioritization, resource planning, and alignment with business objectives. -Monitor project performance (cost, schedule, scope, quality) and conduct regular health checks and risk reviews. -Support project delivery through coaching, audits, and recovery planning for at-risk projects. -Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance. -Oversee project tools, dashboards, reporting systems, and continuous improvement in project data quality and visibility. -Lead team development, including mentoring Project Coordinators and supporting training and succession planning. -Support stakeholder and customer communications, ensuring alignment on scope, expectations, and project status.
Qualifications Education -Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. Experience -Minimum 7 years of project management experience in manufacturing, engineering, automation, or capital equipment industries. -At least 3 years of experience in a PMO or project leadership role. -Proven experience implementing or improving PMO processes and governance. Technical Skills -Strong knowledge of project financials, costing, and schedule risk management. -Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet), ERP systems, and preferably PLM software. Core Competencies -Excellent communication and stakeholder management. -Strong analytical and data-driven mindset. -Leadership, coaching, and influencing skills. -Ability to drive continuous improvement and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
