Job Description:

Sun Life Canada Distribution (SLFD) is one of the leading financial institutions that offer Canadians holistic advice and solutions including insurance, wealth, and health. The Strategic Execution and Change Management team in Retail Advice and Solutions is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic initiatives while offering team members opportunities to gain experiences and skills from strategy to execution.

Reporting to the Director, Distribution Strategic Initiatives & Digital Adoption, the Senior Digital Business Consultant will drive digital transformation and organizational capability development exclusively for key stakeholders. This role uniquely combines adoption roadmap planning, program leadership, and execution excellence to enable key stakeholders to effectively leverage digital tools and drive adoption within their teams for advisor success.

Key Functions & Responsibilities (Focused on Field Leaders & RTLs)

1. Adoption planning & alignment

  • Lead the development and ongoing refinement of a stakeholder-specific digital adoption approach by identifying barriers and adoption opportunities, shaping a prioritized roadmap, and aligning success metrics, capability requirements, and enablement strategies to drive measurable adoption outcomes.
  • Works in alignment with broader digital adoption strategy, translating priorities into actionable items

2. Program & Initiative delivery

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of digital adoption initiatives aligned to the roadmap, including planning, execution and success tracking for various programs, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and drive intended outcomes.
  • Manage program scope, timeline, and resources to ensure efficient delivery and compliance

3. Adoption enablement & Continuous improvement

  • Drive sustainable behaviour change through targeted enablement (e.g. training, coaching and best practices), providing high-touch consultative support to build stakeholder capability and confidence to embed digital tools in supporting advisors with Client servicing, sales opportunity generation, and asset growth
  • Continuously gather insights and feedback to refine approaches and enhance impact

What You Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in the IT, service support, business management, or organizational effectiveness industry with demonstrated technical expertise or formal technical/business post-secondary education
  • 3+ years' experience consulting with consultants or working in a consulting capacity to advise senior leaders and business partners on complex digital and organizational initiatives
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with various software and hardware and their connectivity, specifically: Salesforce.com, Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneDrive, SharePoint), Windows
  • Demonstrated proficiency and technical understanding with technology software/hardware

  • Effective ability to work in a team environment; strong team player with an ability to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong work ethic, and effective time management
  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.

  • Demonstrated experience with SLFD leadership and advisor sales processes
  • Experience in both the insurance and wealth industries

  • Experience in program management and strategic initiative delivery

  • Up to 25% travel to Toronto, Waterloo, or financial centres
  • Ability to manage a flexible work schedule
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
