Calgary Alternative Support Services (CASS) recognizes that the people we employ are our single greatest asset. We have one (1) permanent full-time position located at our main office in Calgary but some time spent out in the community. Working days will be on Mondays to Friday, and flexibility may be required, totaling 37.5 hours per week. This posting closes on July 02, 2026. Program Summary The Calgary Alternative Day Options (CADO) program is a community-based day program serving adults with disabilities. The program occurs in inclusive settings which allow natural interaction with a variety of people. Clients can choose to do one or more of the following: self employment, volunteering, recreation & leisure. For each of these options, clients are supported to set goals, develop new skills, and create natural supports within the community. Job Summary The CADO Community Support Coordinator provides leadership, coordination and quality control in the design, delivery and monitoring of the Calgary Alternative Day Options (CADO) program. The Community Support Coordinator is responsible for: Ensuring that program content and delivery processes conform to a high ethical standard, exemplary standards of practice, the Mission, Vision and Mandate of the Agency and the requirements of funding contracts Ensuring models of support are developed and provided for clients utilizing best practices and individualized planning Delegating, mentoring, supervising and evaluating the performance of frontline staff and contractors Key Responsibilities Client Establish respectful and professional boundaries while developing positive working relationships with clients Establish and maintain a positive professional working relationship with client guardians and other client supports where applicable Respond to a caseload of clients; be available to clients in emergencies Develop Individual Support Plans (ISP) that are individualized and based on specific client needs, desires, and goals Recruit and screen to hire the appropriate supports to implement the goals established in the ISP, ensuring proper training and personal attributes are identified for the needs of a given client Ensure client preferences are reached to the fullest extent possible Collaborate/communicate with family, guardians, and other necessary professionals Support relationships between clients, their support network, and other community members Input case notes into CASS database; PEAK Research community resources that can help support the client’s current desires and needs Maintain up-to-date, accurate, thorough, and complete financial reporting of any client finances and purchases made on behalf of, or for, the client Support Staff Recruitment, hiring, supervision and evaluation of frontline staff Ensure frontline staff/contractors understand and follow agency policies and CASS standards of client service/employment requirements. Including the following: HR deadlines for paperwork/requirements and training are met and in personnel files HR procedures are followed for required documentation on all contracts Timesheets and expense claims are authorized/submitted Perform annual evaluations for frontline employees Provide support and leadership to frontline staff and contractors Ensure proper training has been completed for all staff Agency Provision of leadership, coordination and quality control in the design, delivery and monitoring of Calgary Alternative Day Options services Ensure program content and delivery processes conform to a high ethical standard, exemplary standards of practice, the Mission, Vision and Mandate of the Agency and the requirements of funding contracts Ensure all documentation is submitted in a timely manner Participate in staff meetings for CASS and CADO Maintain all mandatory training Work closely with PDD: Prepare individual funding proposals Submit ISPs and contracts Communicate effectively with PDD Service Coordinators Work closely with the Program Manager/designate and team; Provide regular updates regarding any changes / concerns pertaining to the caseload of clients Serve on agency committees as needed Manage and coordinate program activities and workshops Provide leadership in program planning and development Culture Model and demonstrate CASS values in all interactions with clients, staff, and community members Demonstrate respect and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders of the CASS organization Demonstrate an ability and willingness to give and receive honest, balanced feedback Conduct duties in a fair, ethical, transparent manner with honesty and integrity in accordance and familiarity with CASS Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics for Rehabilitation Professionals, and other applicable professional bodies Embody the core values of CASS Qualifications and Experience Several years of experience in the Human Services field Supervisory experience Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure Competency in report writing Ability to work both independently and as a team member Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong verbal and written communications Ability to approach situations with positivity Ability to adapt communication styles including active listening Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, managerial, and leadership skills Ability to be flexible and patient Confident, creative, critical thinker Knowledge of disability support sector and community resources Strong task prioritization and multi-tasking skills Experience working with Non-Profit organizations is an asset Knowledge in supporting adults with developmental disabilities preferred Expertise in Microsoft Office software, including; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Required Education Degree or diploma in a Human Services related discipline Other Required Skills A current Basic First Aid/Emergency First Aid certification that includes CPR/AED A current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search that is satisfactory to CASS. Additionally, all employees have an ongoing duty to disclose any charges or convictions that may occur during their employment with CASS A vehicle and valid driver's license are considered assets This position falls under the Caregivers Act.
