EBC Inc. is seeking Field Engineer / Assistant Project Manager for our John Hart Dam project located in Campbell River, BC.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Technical Review and Documentation Review, Interpret and Take off Engineering drawings, specifications and survey data; Provide input and review daily reports from Subcontractors and Quality control; Support development of redlines and as-built documentation; Prepare, track and report Project costs and productivity along with Schedule; Prepare RFIs, SRQs, Method Statements and temporary engineering plans; Track and report all costs associated with out of contract work.
Field Coordination
Provide field engineering support, working closely with the Site construction team, Superintendents, Multiple Subcontractors and client field engineers; Attend inspection with Clients to ensure compliance with design, quality and safety standards; Conduct and participate in engineering meetings; Collaborate with Client Engineer of Record and AEGP Engineering/Construction team to resolve technical issues; Ensure Subcontractors adhere to scope of work, schedule, safety, and deficiency corrections.
Planning & Project Controls Provide input for forecasting, planning and scheduling; Assist with quantity tracking, cost control and Extra work documentations; Monitor and report construction progresses, identifying risks and delays; Submit requested information to client; Plan for upcoming work including all required procurement and submittals submitted ahead of time.
Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology; Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) or combination of technical training and/or related experience; Related job experience of 5- 10 years with increasing levels of responsibility; Previous work experience in Civil Engineering Construction, including dams, powerhouse and generation stations, bridges, infrastructure, and/or heavy civil construction is required; Previous work experience on an OPG project or powerhouse experience would be considered an asset; Advanced skills in communication and problem solving; Initiative and leadership; Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Bluebeam; Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task; Skilled in management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving; Attention to detail and problem-solving skills; Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work; Bilingualism – French/English – is considered an asset;

Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.
