What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation & Employee Services, the HRIS Specialist position supports the adoption, maintenance, and continued growth of the Town’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Workday.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Workday HCM Lead
- Act as a Workday Subject Matter expert , providing an in-depth understanding of how the system functions across modules including HCM, Core HR, Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence, Talent and Performance Management, Benefits, Payroll, and Learning Management.
- Lead HCM systems management and employee administration processing, ensure transactional processing is efficient, accurate, timely, and customer centric.
- Ensure ongoing evaluation, testing, and implementation of semi-annual upgrades and the coordination of interconnected elements while continually leveraging the HCM portion of the ERP to automate, streamline, and support staff programs and supports.
- Design processes and reporting to foster efficiency, accuracy, service delivery and enhanced end-user experience to support organizational decision making.
- Research best practices to identify and leverage technology to transform policy or process;
- Remain current on evolving business processes and assess impact on system configurations and integrations.
- Collaborate with internal clients including HR, Finance, TIS, and other stakeholders to ensure system functionality, data integrity, and user adoption.
- Develop and deliver training programs, in partnership with the Learning and Development Specialist, HR, People Leaders, and staff to support Workday adoption, usage, and functionality.
- Provide end-user support and system troubleshooting; resolve issues directly or coordinate with SME’s/vendors
HR Business Analyst
- Generate and analyze standard and ad-hoc reports, providing insights and recommendations to HR leadership
- Conduct needs and gap analyses to determine business requirements, and recommend/configure solutions ;
- Define, document, and implement standardized business processes to improve efficiencies and internal controls.
- Build and support HR metrics to support decision making on HCM programs and performance.
- Monitor and report on data accuracy and integrity within the Workday system.
- Lead progress meetings, report on implementation status and activities, and coordinate to resolve matters within required timeframes.
- Support testing plans development and lead on testing the functional areas within this role’s purview.
- Audit HCM data to ensure integrity and accuracy; oversee data management, reporting and table updates.
- Track functional issues to resolution
System Administration and Optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide Workday HCM support (configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting).
- Partner with the Payroll Systems Specialist (Workday) to provide support, implement, troubleshoot and test enhancements in HR modules.
- Lead the development testing, and annual planning of new HCM modules, upgrades and improvements to optimize Workday use
- Perform advanced system configurations to optimize system and processes to improve efficiency and user experience .
- Manage biannual releases, system updates, patches, and new releases, ensuring minimal operational disruption
- Ensure Workday configurations and processes comply with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Monitor and evaluate HRIS functionality, recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Administer HR system security according to the governance policies and protocols established for HCM.

What You Bring to Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (preferably business/HR administration and/or information systems),
- Five years of related experience in HR and HRIS system implementation and sustainment;
- Experience on an implementation team for an HRMS within an ERP project, preferably Workday
- Experience with establishing and administering various HR programs and systems including how best to leverage the technology to support the process/system.
- Experience designing and configuring learning and development, talent management, position management frameworks, compensation processes, salary administration structures, employee life cycle processes, etc.
- Experience in business process analysis and design including project managing the upgrades and improvements to Workday and the associated processes/systems within HR and across the Organization.
- Experience applying change management principals, Current Change Management certification an asset;
- Experience working in project environment to produce a product or service within a specified timeframe and budget
- Project Management certification (PMP), or relevant experience is required.
- and Lean Yellow or Green Belt certification a definite asset.
Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$113,533.00 - $129,014.00

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus additional hours as required.
