Role Summary

The Producer leads the Pro Sport Events business sector within PixMob, overseeing the successful execution of large-scale activations. From initial phase to final delivery, the Producer ensures flawless project execution, manages potential risks, and maintains robust relationships with clients, partners, promoters, and local production teams.

The Producer is fully accountable for the feasibility, financial profitability, process compliance, and overall delivery of all projects within their market. They provide strategic oversight and mentorship to Project Managers assigned to their portfolio (who independently handle small-to-medium projects and assist with complex ones). As a key liaison between Management, Sales, Product, and Operations, the Producer proudly serves as the primary ambassador for the Production department.

Description of Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Portfolio Management and Team Supervision
  • Sector Leadership: Assume overall accountability for the cluster of projects within the Pro Sport business sector.
  • Mentorship & Delegation: Supervise, mentor, and support assigned Project Managers, ensuring optimal resource allocation, workload balance, and team cohesion.
  • Field Management: Oversee on-site PixMob production teams, including technicians, operators, Pixel Managers, and support staff.
  • Talent Development: Collaborate with technical and creative teams to support the professional growth and empowerment of team members.
  • Escalation Point: Act as the primary point of contact to resolve conflicts or major operational challenges within the market.
  1. Project Sales Support
  • Feasibility Assessments: Actively evaluate the feasibility of incoming projects within the Pro Sport market (and provide cross-coverage for other Producers as needed).
  • Budget Modeling: Build precise, initial production budgets to inform the Sales team's commercial quotes.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Sales to ensure commercial proposals align with real-world production capacities.
  • Creative Execution: Partner with Technical and Creative Directors to successfully deliver the visual experience envisioned by the client.
  1. Governance, Processes, and Representation
  • Department Ambassador: Officially represent the Production department to internal business units and external stakeholders.
  • Standards Enforcer: Rigorously enforce PixMob procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines across all projects.
  • Contractual Compliance: Ensure all operations strictly comply with executed contracts involving clients, promoters, venues, and suppliers.
  1. Financial Management, Oversight, and Reporting
  • Financial Forecasting: Independently manage and maintain regular financial forecasts for the entire portfolio.
  • Executive Reporting: Deliver transparent, comprehensive performance and financial reports to executive management.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event profitability evaluations, analyzing actual production costs against budgeted forecasts to capture variances.
  1. Advanced Operations, Client Relations, and Crisis Management
  • Stakeholder Relations: Establish and maintain high-level relationships with major clients, event promoters, and stadium/venue representatives.
  • Strategic Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for high-stakes communication and project decisions.
  • Logistical Orchestration: Partner with the Operations team to coordinate complex equipment logistics across multiple locations and dates.
  • Crisis Leadership: Develop operational protocols for large-scale deployments and lead crisis communication plans on-site or remotely when required.
  • Real-Time Decision Making: Make critical, time-sensitive decisions with significant financial or operational impacts.
  1. Continuous Improvement
  • Post-Mortems: Lead project post-mortems to identify operational inefficiencies and opportunities for growth.
  • Innovation: Contribute to the evolution of best practices and operational innovation within PixMob.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in large-scale event production, Sports events management, or complex project management.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven experience in project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing substantial project P&Ls.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, delegate to, and mentor Project Managers and field staff.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of production processes and technical staging; prior experience working within professional sports environments or stadium operations is a strong asset.
  • Soft Skills: High degree of autonomy, proactivity, and exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and crisis-management skills.
  • Communication: Ability to interface effectively with executive leadership and sales teams.
  • Language: Full professional fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is required. As the pro sports market is highly international, the ideal candidate must be fully equipped to negotiate, collaborate, and lead global project rollouts daily with English-speaking clients, leagues, venues, and local crews worldwide.
  • Travel: Flexibility to travel sporadically as required by event schedules.
