Department Overview

The Client and Colleague Engagement Strategy (CCES) team is responsible for creating effectiveness and engagement strategies through strategy development, colleague communications and engagement, learning and development, client experience, performance management and events.

Job Description

Reporting to the AVP, Client & Colleague Engagement Strategy, the Senior Manager, Strategy will lead the development and execution of enterprise-aligned strategy, planning, and performance management across Business Banking. The role is accountable for delivering integrated strategic insights, enterprise deliverables, and executive communications that support business priorities, inform leadership decisions, and enable long-term growth.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy Development & Enterprise Deliverables

  • Lead the development, communication and execution of Canadian Business Banking strategic business plans, including annual strategy decks and supporting materials.
  • Own the creation and delivery of enterprise-level materials including Board submissions, Quarterly Business Updates (QBU), and enterprise scorecards.
  • Draft and integrate all non-financial strategic content, ensuring alignment with Finance, Enterprise Strategy, and leadership expectations.
  • Support strategy refreshes, consultant engagements, and enterprise ad hoc requests aligned to evolving priorities.

Performance Management & Insights

  • Lead development and maintenance of enterprise scorecards, dashboards, and OKRs to track performance against strategic objectives.
  • Oversee Monthly Operating Reports (MOR), consolidating inputs, developing deep-dive insights, and preparing executive recommendations.
  • Deliver integrated reporting through Power BI dashboards and executive reporting tools.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities and provide insights, recommendations, and escalation to leadership.

Executive Communications

  • Collaborate on the development of executive materials including investor presentations, earnings Q&A, and competitive intelligence reports.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling strategic narratives for senior leaders.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all enterprise communications.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Act as a strategic partner to Business Banking leadership, Finance, and Enterprise Strategy teams.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure timely delivery of enterprise commitments.
  • Support governance processes, including board reporting, executive forums, and leadership offsites.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks, regulatory standards, and governance expectations.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build team capability in strategy, analytics, and executive communication.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in strategy, business management, finance, or consulting and proven people manager experience.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, performance management, and executive reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders through compelling storytelling supported by data.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-starter with an internal drive to build, develop and progress.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels, problem-solve, influence and negotiate to deliver results.
  • Strong business acumen with a value-added and growth mindset.
  • Business Banking experience is a desired asset.
