Entomica Insectarium & Natural History Museum is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to inspiring curiosity, promoting ecological awareness, and delivering immersive, hands-on learning experiences through insects and natural history. Entomica offers a uniquely interactive experience that serves families, schools, and visitors across the Algoma region. Through high-quality exhibits, curriculum-linked education programs, and innovative outreach initiatives, Entomica connects people of all ages with biodiversity and environmental conservation, fostering education, discovery, and community engagement.

Job Description

Entomica is looking for a Programs Delivery Coordinator to assist us with the creation and implementation of its various programs and initiatives. The Programs Delivery Coordinator’s key duties are to assist the Director with the development and delivery of a variety of programming including education, out-reach, volunteer, fund-development and others.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop new and implement existing programs supporting Entomica’s corporate plans and strategies in collaboration with Director Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders and organizations supporting programming growth and sustainability Manage and organize various programs following established guidelines and schedules Develop and research programming implementation needs including developing program work plans, budgets and resource lists Communicate consistently with clients and stakeholders Create various informational documents and assets to support implementation and promotion of various programs in coordination with Entomica staff Insect husbandry and tour delivery

Required Skills:

A post-secondary degree or diploma in an environmental, educational or business-related program Excellent personal interaction skills Excellent verbal communication skills Ability to work independently (self-motivated) and as a team Comfortable with doing presentations to various clients, stakeholders and communities Ability to engage with community and realize desired outcomes Motivation to learn about insects, their biology and ecology Comfortable with handling live insects Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Requirements:

This position is funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC). Applicants must meet the NOHFC qualifying criteria to be eligible for the position: Are new entrants into the work force, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field. Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship. Are at least 18 years of age. Reside in northern Ontario, and be legally entitled to work, in Canada. Applicants must have a current police background including vulnerable sector check Applicants must have valid driver’s license and vehicle access
