Project Biologist - Biodiversity
This posting is being used to staff one permanent .8 FTE position working 60 hours biweekly.

Your role
As the Project Biologist – Biodiversity, you’ll support our vision and values through development, coordination, and delivery of projects within the department’s Biodiversity program.

Essential Qualifications

A university degree in wildlife biology, ecology, zoology, or a related discipline; Substantial experience in advanced data analyses using GIS and R software; Considerable experience in report writing, including peer-reviewed reports or publications; Experience coordinating wildlife-related field projects, using non-invasive and capture-mark-recapture methods; Experience in coordinating and managing wildlife sample collection in a laboratory; and Experience procuring and maintaining scientific and other equipment and supplies.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications may be equally considered .
Knowledge, Skills And Suitability
To support key objectives and strategic/operational needs of this position, candidates will be assessed on the following:
Strong working knowledge of Yukon wildlife; Ability to design and conduct wildlife studies or surveys; Ability to interpret and communicate scientific results in written formats; Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities and problem solve; Effective project management skills; Ability to maintain relationships within and outside of government; and Ability to collaborate effectively with others while also operating with minimal oversight.
