Your new company Hays is working with a large, institutional real estate investment and asset management firm operating across Canada, managing a diverse portfolio of retail and mixed use assets across key urban markets. The business is known for its high profile tenant base, strong operational standards, and collaborative internal structure across property management, asset management, leasing, and finance teams.
Your new role Oversee a mixed portfolio of retail and mixed use assets across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island Lead day to day operations including tenant relations, vendor management, and site performance Manage and mentor a small on-site team including operations and marketing support Oversee annual operating and capital budgets, including forecasting and reporting Lead capital projects, building improvements, and ongoing asset initiatives Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payable, escalating issues where required Handle complex tenant issues and maintain strong relationships with national and anchor tenants Work closely with internal stakeholders across asset management, leasing, and finance to deliver on asset strategy Support and deliver retail marketing initiatives in collaboration with marketing teams
What you'll need to succeed BCFSA Rental Property Management License 5+ years of property management experience, ideally with retail assets Proven experience managing complex, high traffic retail portfolios Strong budgeting and financial management experience across operating and capital budgets Exposure to retail marketing programs or tenant engagement initiatives Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities in a fast paced environment Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle, with flexibility to travel between sites
