We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Engineer - Civil to oversee the planning, design, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and capital projects. This role provides technical leadership, project oversight, and mentorship to engineering teams while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The Lead Engineer - Civil will play a critical role in driving engineering excellence, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, and supporting strategic project initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead civil engineering for major capital and infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards.
  • Provide technical oversight of civil/structural designs, including site development, grading, drainage, utilities, foundations, roads, and building code compliance.
  • Support project delivery by contributing to planning, scheduling, cost estimating, risk management, and technical assurance to meet scope, budget, and schedule objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations, maintenance, multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support design reviews, permitting, and project execution.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff while fostering a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide construction and field engineering support, including monitoring progress and quality, resolving technical issues, and ensuring environmental and sustainability requirements are met.

Who you’ll work with: The Team: You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals and project specialists. Why it matters: We fuel Western Canada. Our Refinery strives to be a recognized leader in safety, reliability and sustainability within the petroleum-refining industry.

Who you are: You are looking for a career in Engineering & Engineering Technology and:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (or eligibility in Saskatchewan).
  • 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, ideally in major projects or industrial/infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with major capital projects such as carbon capture, oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure developments is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and structural design and engineering standards.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
