Position Overview
The Manager, Facilities – De Havilland Field is responsible for the design, readiness, and ongoing operation of site wide facilities, infrastructure, and services for De Havilland Aircraft of Canada’s new aerospace campus in Strathmore, Alberta.
This role supports the facility from design development to commissioning, and transitions into full responsibility for facilities management and site services. The position will evolve into the lead role for Facilities at De Havilland Field, responsible for building the function and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support facility design, infrastructure, and utilities planning during development and construction
- Establish facilities management processes, service models, and vendor strategies
- Lead all site services, including food services, cleaning, waste management, and grounds maintenance
- Oversee performance of building systems and utilities in coordination with technical teams
- Manage third-party service providers, including contracts, SLAs, and performance
- Develop and manage facilities budgets (OPEX/CAPEX)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Support commissioning, site readiness, and operational ramp-up
- Build and lead the Facilities function over time
Qualifications and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in facilities management or site operations, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting new facility development or commissioning
- Proven experience managing vendors and service contracts
- Strong understanding of building systems, utilities, and site services
- Experience with budget management and cost control
- Ability to operate in both project and operational environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Successful setup of facilities systems and services for De Havilland Field
- On-time support of site commissioning and readiness
- Delivery of site services within cost and performance targets
- Compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Development of a scalable Facilities function to support long-term operations
