Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Administers Wellness programs and activities across TransLink. Supports the Corporate Safety Management System by developing and promoting wellness initiatives, supporting the development of new initiatives, and recommending improvements to existing processes and procedures. Supports the operation and ongoing maintenance of the Sapperton gym facilities and equipment, initiates equipment purchases and procurement activities and liaises with external service providers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administers Corporate Safety and Wellness programs; provides support for program development and ongoing management; develops and promotes safety and wellness initiatives; responds to employee and management inquiries and serves as the primary point of contact for Corporate Safety and Wellness activities and initiatives.
Facilitates annual safety and wellness events and specific events and initiatives; organizes schedules and coordinates logistics; and responds to inquiries.
Facilitates Safety and Wellness Programs and initiatives, inclusive of, but not limited to, enterprise flu immunizations and arranges for associated contracts, coordinates logistics and clinic dates.
Supports decision making, program development and continuous improvement by analyzing data and conducting research; collecting, checking and compiling information and preparing materials for reports, presentations and documents. Provides input into the development of new safety and wellness initiatives and improvements to processes and procedures; monitors performance metrics, identifying patterns and trends and making recommendations to the Manager.
Conducts Corporate Safety and Wellness program audits, including self-audits, collecting, gathering and compiling information to support program design, implementation and continuous improvement. Conducts analysis and collects data related to Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP)and coordinates annual review and identifies areas of improvements (complete with corrective actions and project plans).
Administers surveys, focus groups and employee feedback (i.e., post-session follow-up; employee and management feedback), which may include providing input to survey content, organizing distribution, assisting with data analysis, maintaining records of results, and generating system-based reports on findings.
Supports the operations of the employer’s gym facility and liaises with various external service providers in regards to implementing various corporate wellness initiatives and programs. Monitors and maintains quarterly equipment maintenance schedule of the Sapperton gym facility; ensures maintenance work is performed and initiates the procurement and purchase of new equipment as required. Works closely with operating companies to provide support as needed for gym maintenance.
Manages all confidential forms relating to safety and wellness initiatives, and leads vendor and facility contracts and service level agreements with input from operating companies. Researches vendor opportunities, detailing corporate safety and wellness program requirements to vendors, creates fitness facility contracts and satisfaction reports for manager review.
Administers the corporate wellness budget, handling invoices, liaising with procurement to ensure purchase orders, contracts and any required documentation are in place for vendors, and monitoring and reconciling expenditures.
Provides consultation with stakeholders and operating company partners as it relates to ongoing initiatives and program promotion and facilitates workshops and training for employees to support employee engagement and overall health. Contributes as a subject matter expert to identify opportunities to boost wellness education, communication outreach improvements, and increase accessible health outlets for all employees.
Participates in safety and wellness projects and initiatives, contributing input from a coordinator/administrative perspective. Develops and maintains relationships with all levels of staff across the organization in order to support the coordination and administration of Corporate Safety and Wellness activities. Produces communications, newsletters, or other information products to support employee engagement on safety and wellness topics.
Participates, leads and represents the area in various wellness related groups and committees.
Provides safety and wellness related support and coordination during significant incidents, as requested, with a focus on employee well-being, communication, and post-incident recovery activities. Works collaboratively with Corporate Safety and Emergency Management teams to ensure safety and wellness considerations are reflected during and following such events.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma related to health education, health promotion, exercise science, psychology, social work, safety or a related discipline, and three (3) years of related experience administering safety, wellness and rehabilitation programs preferably in a large, unionized environment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Solid knowledge of corporate safety and wellness practices and programs.
Solid knowledge of standard Office tools including word processing, spreadsheet and web-based systems.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Solid planning and coordination skills to provide administrative support to a wide-range of safety and wellness activities
Solid interpersonal and communication skills to act as a first point of contact for the program
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, multi-task, and able to meet multiple deadlines.
Other Information
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
This is a full-time temporary position for 6 months, anticipated end date January 4, 2027

Hybrid
This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
The salary for this position ranges from $71,360 - $107,040 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.

We want to ensure our offer will align with your strengths considering experience, skills, and internal equity to offer a fair and equitable salary.
