About the Role We’re looking for a passionate, collaborative, and consumer-focused Assistant Brand Manager to join the Barilla Marketing team, with responsibility for supporting the management of the Catelli portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of Canada’s most iconic and trusted food brands by supporting the execution of marketing initiatives across innovation, communications, retail activation, digital, and ecommerce. The Assistant Brand Manager provides day-to-day marketing and project coordination support across a broad range of brand initiatives. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Trade Marketing, Consumer Insights, Finance, R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and external agency partners, to help ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time, and in line with business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, proactive marketer looking to build a strong foundation in brand management. The role offers exposure to integrated marketing, innovation, packaging, retail execution, ecommerce, consumer insights, and cross-functional project management while developing the skills needed to grow within a leading consumer packaged goods organization.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor brand performance, category trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity, translating findings into clear monthly business updates and actionable recommendations. Support the execution of annual brand plans and integrated marketing campaigns across multiple touchpoints, including digital, social, ecommerce, retail media, shopper marketing, and in-store activations. Assist in the management of the marketing budget by tracking spend, processing invoices, maintaining budget reports, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout the fiscal year. Provide project management support for packaging development projects by partnering with cross-functional teams to manage timelines, artwork approvals, regulatory reviews, and ensure compliance with brand guidelines. Partner closely with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to implement display tools and point-of-sale materials that enhance brand visibility at retail. Develop and manage the brand’s organic social media content calendar, supporting always-on communications and community engagement while ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy. Monitor and maintain ecommerce product pages by ensuring imagery, product descriptions, and digital content are accurate, optimized, and aligned with brand standards across retailer platforms. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with excellence in execution. Support ongoing business reviews, campaign performance reporting, and post-launch analyses by consolidating data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or a related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Relevant internship, co-op, or early career experience up to 2 years in Brand Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Category Marketing, Shopper Marketing or a related marketing function. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent analytical skills and comfort working with business performance data and market insights. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for building brands and understanding consumers. Experience with consumer packaged goods (CPG) is considered an asset.
