Working primarily within Black & McDonald’s existing client base in the Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, Guelph areas, the project sales representative is focused around supporting the service project sales team through estimating, sales, account management and project operations in this geographic area. Reporting to the Projects Team Supervisor, the project sales representative will support clients and B&M technicians in their assigned territory to grow the business within our existing client base.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Technical Sales
Identify & qualify technical sales opportunities with both existing and prospective clients Scope and estimate the work Prepare client-facing documents, project agreements (quotes) Photo documentation & management Manage and update customer relationship management (CRM - Salesforce) software Attend client/project sites as required to execute work, support sales or client initiatives Attend regular service sales & safety meetings
Account Management
Assist with asset management, labelling,and planning – create & updated drawings, as-builts Analyse available information to help prepare client partnership strategies – identify gaps & opportunities (client reviews) Assemble & prepare client facing presentations using appropriate systems
Project Operations
Ensure sold projects are delivered & executed safely, to quality standards and in a timely manner while keeping within scope and budget Schedule & coordinate project work, required internal & external resources Requisition of purchase orders, invoicing, insurance certificates, prepare notice of project, form1000’s, other authority requirements (e.g. ESA, TSSA, MoL), etc. Assemble safety boards, prepare safety plans & monitoring of related activity Preparation & management of related documentation – sales, execution schedules, project close-out (technical, financial/admin), equipment list updates, drawings/layouts, etc. Review & approve vendor & supplier invoices for accuracy and timely payment approvals

WORK ENVIRONMENT
In-Office – Stoney Creek & Waterloo office with assigned desk & computer, meeting rooms Warehouse – Stoney Creek & Waterloo shops and sea cans Remote – Home, client sites and supplier facilities
Education Requirements
Post-secondary degree or diploma in any of the following or similar fields: Technical trade – HVAC/R, Electrician, Plumber, etc Mechanical engineering, energy systems & sustainability Construction or project management OR Work experience for 4 years or more in a similar role/industry will be considered in lieu of a post-secondary degree Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements
Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
Organization & time management – ability to manage several projects and activities concurrently often with tight timelines General knowledge of the built environment (building/facility/process) mechanical, heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, energy systems including related standards & good practice Valid Ontario G class driver’s license with clean abstract Proficient user of Microsoft suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) AutoCAD & MS Project experience an asset Applicable local and provincial labour codes Managing / leading union and non-union staff Business operations processes Willing and able to travel within the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph areas Ability to obtain security clearances such as reliability clearance and possibly Controlled Goods Program clearance
The expected salary range for this role is between $70,000 - $80,000, plus a company vehicle or vehicle allowance. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
