Estimating Department | Civil & Building Sector | Full-time, permanent
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Estimating Director (Civil & Building), you will: Participate in preparing proposals alongside estimators from other disciplines; Analyze plans, specifications, and contractual requirements to identify risks and opportunities; Assess subcontracting needs and coordinate external estimates; Source, solicit, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; Negotiate prices and maintain a database of specialized partners; Plan work methods and propose cost-optimization solutions; Calculate quantities, labor costs, and project costs; Participate in developing preliminary budgets and schedules; Prepare and compile the required tender documents.
Required Education & Experience
College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role; Excellent ability to read plans and specifications; Good knowledge of estimating techniques and the tendering process; Knowledge of TPL estimating software (an asset); Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment; Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
