Accountabilities: The Director, Strategic Communications Network will oversee the strategic direction, development, and delivery of a global communications network, ensuring alignment between national initiatives and broader movement goals. This role requires a balance of long-term narrative strategy, operational leadership, and hands-on communications execution. Lead and evolve the overall strategic communications approach, translating complex economic and policy concepts into compelling narratives adapted to different political, cultural, and media environments. Manage and develop a global communications team, building capabilities, establishing clear responsibilities, and supporting a sustainable and high-performing working environment. Guide communications hubs across multiple countries by providing strategic direction, capacity-building support, and frameworks that enable local teams to create meaningful impact. Strengthen collaboration and knowledge-sharing across national hubs by developing shared practices, experimentation processes, and learning systems. Support rapid-response communications efforts, media engagement, messaging development, executive communications, ghostwriting, and high-impact narrative moments. Partner with campaigns, policy, and program teams to identify emerging opportunities and ensure communications efforts support wider strategic objectives. Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and strategic partners while supporting fundraising efforts for the communications network and national initiatives. Represent the organization within the strategic communications field through events, partnerships, convenings, and sector discussions. Provide mentorship, training, and strategic guidance to communications professionals, partners, and network participants. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic communications leader with a strong understanding of narrative change, movement building, and global communications ecosystems. They should combine strategic vision with practical execution skills and the ability to collaborate across cultures, organizations, and disciplines. Extensive experience leading strategic communications, advocacy communications, narrative strategy, media relations, or related fields within complex international environments. Proven ability to develop communications strategies that influence public conversations, policy debates, and social movements. Experience managing distributed teams and networks while fostering collaboration across different geographic and cultural contexts. Strong understanding of media ecosystems, digital communications, messaging frameworks, and communications innovation. Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, persuasive, and impactful communications materials. Demonstrated experience working with funders, partners, coalitions, or advocacy organizations. Excellent leadership, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to operate effectively in a remote-first, fast-moving, and mission-driven environment. Strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to navigate sensitive political and social contexts. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and building diverse teams and partnerships.
