**JOB SUMMARY:**REPORTING TO THE ACADEMIC COORDINATOR OF THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION OR DELEGATE, THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION OF AEC AND OTHER CREDIT AND NON-CREDIT PROGRAMS AND COURSES IN THE AREAS OF ACADEMIC AND CAREER TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS, WITH A STRONG FOCUS ON, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ADULT TRAINING IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. EVENING OR WEEKEND WORK MAY BE REQUIRED OCCASIONALLY AS PER DEPARTMENT NEEDS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement, develop and manage AEC and other credited and non - credited programs predominantly in the IT field, including: estimating realistic budget projections, scheduling courses, offering information sessions for students, interviewing and testing prospective students as required, defining qualifications for teachers, ensuring that teaching positions are posted and interviews held in a timely manner, choosing and ordering materials, ensuring that required equipment and facilities are in place.

Oversee registration, research and select appropriate internship placements, administer evaluations and program revisions and all other activities necessary to the smooth running of the program or course

Implement, develop and manage activities involving Recognition of Acquired Learning, ensuring that proper procedures are applied

Mentor students during the academic and professional growth process, in collaboration with College and external resources

Provide support and advice to students and teachers, including conflict resolution and mediation where required, in collaboration with the Coordinator of Continuing Education

Actively foster the integration of the AEC students into the Quebec labor market

Ensure that relevant College policies are applied in a consistent manner to programs under the incumbent’s responsibility

In collaboration with College resources, develop new or adjust existing digital tools to support program delivery

Actively participate in faculty hiring and the faculty evaluation process, in collaboration with the Coordinator of Continuing Education

Actively develop and foster relationships with local businesses, industries and community groups

Evaluate external training as well as AECs and other programs and courses under the incumbent’s responsibility; make recommendations for change

Attend regional and provincial meetings as required

Participate in the Continuing Education team regularly, briefing the Director and providing input to other conseillers and conseillères pédagogiques as required

Perform other relevant tasks, as may be defined by the Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of specialization, ie Education; Master’s degree an asset.
Specific Requirements:
- 3 years directly related experience in Continuing Education, and/or liaison work with the business sector and federal and provincial government agencies (preferred)
- Excellent human relations, communications, teamwork and organizational skills
- Experience in program management involving multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and self-directed under time pressure in a multitasking environment
- Experience resolving conflict situations through mediation and mentoring
- Profound understanding of the academic and personal needs of adult learners of diverse backgrounds in a labor market training environment
- Emphasis in aligning training and labor market needs in collaboration with industry
- Knowledge of the requirements of competency-based education and innovative pedagogy an asset
- Knowledge in the requirements of distance education an asset
- English (Advanced oral, written and written comprehension)
- French (Intermediate oral, written and written comprehension)
- Experience in the Cegep system an asset
