The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager of Recreation Services, the Project Manager, Recreation Services leads and coordinates projects and initiatives that advance the Recreation and Culture Strategic Plan and division workplans. The position provides project management and coordination support to operational projects including policy and procedure development, departmental initiatives, budget development, resident engagement on projects, long-range planning and strategic priorities. The Project Manager also, acts as a liaison across departments to mobilize stakeholders in support of corporate priorities. As the Project Manager, Recreation Services, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to: * Provide a combination of project management and coordination of Recreation Services projects. * Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with project management standards, best practices and industry frameworks * Facilitate projects outlined in the Recreation and Culture Strategic Plan including development of action plans, connecting staff workplans to deliverables, tracking work performance and milestones, status, and risk reporting. * Ongoing review of Recreation Services analytics identifying trends and opportunities; reporting on analytics in relation to division targets The Ideal Candidate We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with a post-secondary degree/diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Sport Management, Event Management, Public Administration, or related field. Certifications in quality assurance (Six Sigma), project management, change management, strategic planning, legal awareness, municipal administrative would be considered an asset. Our ideal candidate has Minimum 3-year related experience in community development, special projects, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to ensure suitable agreements, decisions are reached. We are seeking an individual with the ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity involving regular access to confidential data. The successful candidate for Project Manager, Community Recreation will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office and after hours (as required). This position offers a salary range of $99,166.76 to $123,958.45 plus a competitive benefit package. Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
